Obsessed OK, I just got back from a drs. visit...my pre op physical. My daughter/best friend went with me as usual. When the dr. asked if I was okay, I said yes and my daughter said no. So I had to admit that I am getting a little scared of the surgery and pain of recovery. I am having total replacement in both knees on May 7. Anyway I said I was also very upset about leaving and not being able to see Murfee. My daughter said she would see that I was able to see him while in the hospital. So basically I told my dr. that I was going to have my little guy "sneak" in to see me. I asked him if that was bad or would it give me an infection in my knees. Thank goodness he didn't say no...now he didn't say yes, but he seemed to understand:D |
awwwwwwww I would hate leaving my guys too. Good luck on your surgery. |
Good luck with your surgery. Hey remember its reasons like this that carriers that look like purses were made!!!! No one will probably even notice. |
My mom did it! She was having treatments for 9 days in the hospital and HAD to see her baby girl (she has a shih tzu) so her hubby snuck her in! Just have the door shut! :D |
Good luck with your surgery! Sounds like a "big one" Sending advance get well hugs :ghug: |
Best luck with the surgery. I hope all will go well, and you will get better soon. You could explain to the doctor that Yorkie kisses will help you heal faster! |
Good luck with surgery. I am sure you will heal faster with Yorkie kisses!!! |
good luck with your surgery, I hope you have a speedy recovery and thank goodness he didn't say no so yah! you get to see your baby! |
Obsessed? Not at all! I completely understand, I can't stand to be away from my babies even overnight. I took mine on vacation with me once, to South Padre Island, for a whole week!:D Good Luck with your surgery. |
good luck on your surgery. I'm sure your little guy will be just as happy to see you as you are to see him. |
Thanks for the well wishes. I am so glad someone understands my need to have my little buddy with me. We ALWAYS take him on vacation with us so I have never been without him. |
Good luck on your surgery!!! But to calm your nerves a little bit; I was in the hospital for 5 days..and told my doctor that to make me recover faster it would help if Bella was allowed in. They said that they have special "pet vitiations" I just had to make sure she was up on shots; and give a copy to the charge nurse. Then Bella was able to come and stay with her mommy for a few hours =) it was fun fun fun.. |

Have a speedy recovery. I work at a hospital and have seen people sneeking small dogs in. We all look the other way. All the rooms are private so what's the harm? |
Hope you have a speedy and good recovery. I don't think there's anything wrong with you wanting to see your baby during this time. ;) |
Patty, Good luck with your surgery! And I wish you a quick and pain-free recovery. I understand your fear of surgery, but just think how nice it will be to get rid of knee pain! (...which reminds me...time to go take my celebrex...) |
I am an Infection Control Nurse, and I think it is a great idea. I write orders giving pets permission to visit if they are up to date on vaccinations and if their physician agrees. We have all private rooms. Best of luck with surgery. |
You don't know how glad I am to hear that nurses actually look the other way whem little babies come to visit:) I will make sure all his records are available and I know my daughter will have him in one of his carriers but I KNOW it will keep me from getting all depressed:D I hope this surgery works 'cause it sure does hurt to walk now! |
I know what you mean because when I had surgery, it was soooooo hard for me to be away from Jake! Best of luck with your upcoming surgery! |
Hope you don't get caught sneeking him in. Is it a small hospital? they would understand more. |
I had my right total knee replacement, Jan. 18, and my left knee done 3 years ago. I am now walking pain free! I commend you for being so brave to have both done at the same time, and I wish you a speedy recovery. I agree! Yorkie kisses help with the recovery! Good luck, |
Hi Patty, I hope your surgery will go well. I'm sure just seeing your little one will help you recover quickly.. Good luck and God bless. Another Patty, Chloe & Maddi. |
Not obsessed. There's alot of comfort in those little faces and peace when they snuggle up next to you. Just looking into their eyes can bring such joy. That's why therapy dogs have become so popular. Good luck with your surgery and we'll pray for a speedy recovery. |
We are hoping for a wonderfully successful surgery and speedy recovery!!! Your fur-baby will do you wonders in recovery...:p |
Good luck Patty....having had bad knees all my life, I completely sympathise ! Sneak the dog to the window of your ward if it on ground floor, or get a doggy bag, lol....if he's quiet, who would know ???;) p.s to make you feel a wee bit better, my pal had that done, and it was fine....a lot better once she got the movement back, and just remember not to be scared to ask for pain relief to be written up on your notes - ask your Consultant when you see him before the op ! If it's written up, they can't refuse ! :) :animal-pa Debra x x x x person with many past major surgeries, lol....I think it is 6 and more to come:rolleyes: |
I'm wishing you a successful surgery and very speedy and complete recovery! I'll say a prayer! It'll be not much fun to go through, but the outcome will make it well worth it! Hugs to you! I'm glad you'll get visits from your baby while in the hospital. That's the best medicine you could ask for! |
