Does anyone here run with their Yorkies?? If so, do you use a stroller and what kind???? I am a runner, long distance, and I really really want to get the litttle ones out with me, but I know they can't run the distance I do, and I would rather not be running with two Yorkies in my arms :D :D AprilLove can walk with me about 1/2 mile before she wants a free ride.!! |
I don't run with mine, but I think a stroller would be a great idea. I think the three wheeled ones are supposed to be best for running. You might want to look at those. If it were me I would start out and just walk them for 20 min or so until they are a little tired out. Then I would put them in the stroller. I bet they would love that. |
Wylie can run w/ my hubby and I for about a 1/2 hour - it's awesome! I highly recommend it! |
:animal-pa I take Lacy running at the beach and she is goos for about 45 minutes....as she is only 1.7 lbs Stacey Lacy and Willow(our newest baby girl):animal36 |
mine has run with me for over 1 mile and wears me out. |
The Jeep 3 wheel stroller looks like it would be an amazing running stroller. I plan on getting one very soon so that I can run w/my furbabies but let them get comfy when it gets to be too far! |
Scamp runs like forever:D just loves the outdoors soooo much ....he would run like all day, maybe its because her a bigger Yorkie 7lbs...wheras Minnie my other Yorkie 4lbs can run a short distance then is out of wind...:animal-pa They both enjoy running......just longer with Scamp:animal36 |
I do run with mine. Keep in mind that Cooper is 11lbs (but fit) and my Biewer Bentley is already 8lbs at 6mos. Cooper is a great runner and loves it, we have run in wind, in rain. I don't run when its especially hot. The most I've ever done with him has been 4miles. I'd love to get him to go with me when I rollerblade but haven't tried it yet. Yorkies are more resilent then we give them credit sometimes, but granted, the tinie ones do have a little more limitations (even if they are super adorable). Kathy |
