Do only YORKIE lovers do this ? I was talking on the phone to a friend who has a BIG dog...(she was outside while talking) and heard her saying....."Awwwww Buster ! Did you HAVE to do that?" I asked what did he do this time....(he's a REALLY big dog) she tells me he had to 'go' and did right in the middle of the yard - (she used much better words though)...and I started laughing - like OF COURSE he had to do that - Why ELSE would he do that...lol..... but it got me thinking - Are yorkie lovers the only ones who practically throw a parade when our babies "DO" their business ? Chanel is 3 now, and Cheri is 1 ....and I ALWAYS clap or tell them 'good girls" and I get so tickled over them having a poop ! Are we just all crazy ? I mean really - after 3 years of watching Chanel poop you'd think I'd get over it ! |
Too Funny! I just had this conversation with my neighbor outside yesterday! She has a shi-tzu (Simon's girlfriend) and we were clapping for her because she pooped! I made the comment "why doesn't anyone cheer for me when I go" and we started cracking up! She does it too so maybe it is a small dog thing and they aren't puppies. Ezra is 2! |

Yes we are the only ones!!! LOL our pooches pee the size of a dime and poo barely the size of half a pinkie. this is hilarious because even my friends think Chewy's "potty" is cute. |
I only cheer when my yorkies go potty! I can promise I am not praising Ivan when he has his big bird poops! Ugh! His are bigger than Buny's! |
I cheered Gracie on for eight years! LOL! I'm not having real great success with Lexy yet though! These dogs are so smart you'd think potty training would be a snap! I wonder why it isn't? |
Villette, you never cease to crack me up! I mean, really, I am laughing hard right now because I know how terribly true it is! I even hear my husband using my coined phrase "Yeah, good boy go potty outside!"....lol |
:rolleyes: Toto will be two in July and it's a celebration every time we have a little poop or pee!! We have gotten really good at ignoring the "eye rolls"!! :) Toto will make sure that we see her go to her pad because she knows she will get a couple of Yogurt Drops! ;) |
you don't know how bad i want these yorkies to talk! that is just too funny. excitement over a poop. but now remember we did it for our human children too. they are the ones who rolls the eyes over things i do now. |

We are teasing each other at home - when the other "goes" we stand outside the door and go "Good boy/girl, good boy/girl, you're soooo good" - cracks us up every time. |

I do the same thing, but I have a problem. Desi starts to poo on the pad, then thinks she done, walks away and the poo drops somewhere else NOT on the pad.. Now what !!!! Do I say " Good Girl" when a piece of poo is sitting on my new rug?? :rolleyes: |
I all but call everybody I know to celebrate poo-poo! I have poo-poo parties daily. My dogs look at me after they do their business - they're waiting for their praise!! What's wrong with us?!?!? |
That is strange... now that I think about it!! I guess I always praise him,, cause he is always " farting " ( no pun intended) around,, getting all distracted,,, So when he finally goes,,IM SO HAPPY,, that we can go back in the house!! Back to the other post abt them going to the bathroom with us,,,can you imagine,,if when we got up and flushed, that they would say, "" AHHH, GOOD GIRL, HER WENT POTTY" !! haha :D |
Yep I'm guily too, Baby always runs up to me after going and waits for her praise. ANd boy do I. She gets kisses and treats and pets. She is soo wonderful! |
I'm right in there with ya'll - it's "Oh look at the good boy went pee-pee in his potty box, yes, good boy, pee-peed in potty box all day long! Him gets a SPECIAL cookie!" This is when I come home from work and there have been no accidents in my bedroom which is "his" room when I am not there. SPECIAL cookie is usually something from the refrigerator like a pinky-fingernail sized bit of cheese or lunchmeat - barely enough to taste but he knows when I say special cookie he runs to the refrigerator!! My boyfriend (who said he couldn't stand small dogs) has now gotten into it to with "Potty box Tucker, that's Daddy's good boy!" hee hee Dana |
