Making Sissy an appointment On Monday to get Sissy spayed. I'm really nervous about it  ,however I know it is for the best. What are some of the questions I should ask the vet before spaying. Do most of you have the pre-test done? What is the name again for the anthesic (sp) to be used. |
Do you get to take her home that night? Areyou going to have any retaiined teeth pulled or microchipped? I didnt have the bloodwork done but I should have. Isoflorurine or sevroflorine is the gas that you want. |
i believe Layla had bloodwork done there before she was spayed but i'm not 100% sure since i left her there in the morning around 9.. but her surgery wasn't until noonish.. so i imagine they did do bloodwork! ask if she will come home with pain meds.. layla didn't but i hear it is much easier on both pup and mom!! |
I'm not sure about what questions you should ask, just make sure that the vet uses isoflorine gas or sevroflorine gas. Ask any questions that will help ease your mind about the ordeal, even if they sound silly. |
That was the name I was looking for isoflorine. Sissy is in heat right now and my Sister just told me they don't spay until about three weeks after the go off heat. Quote:

Are you going to take her home that night? If not is someone there to watch her overnight? Meds for pain. If any baby teeth need to be pulled? Microchipped or not? I had the blood work done, that's how they found Pipers enzymes were elevated. We might be looking at liver problems now. Do they supply a collar so she can't like the stitches. Or use onesies so she can't. Anything else comes to mind just ask. |

Good Luck to you and your baby! Hopey goes in on May 5. I made her appt today and asked the same questions above... I get to bring her home, so that makes me feel better! They do use the "I" gas at my vet so I feel good about it! d |
