keeping the floppy look? Hi, What can be done to keep the Yorkies ears down..as I prefer the floppy look? thank... |
I'm not sure that anything can be done to keep them down, but maybe DON'T do any of the things that people do to get them to go up? Many people tape ears, massage them, and hold them up while petting their dogs. Emma has one floppy ear, and one up ear-and I love her that way. We didn't do anything to her ears. Milli's ears are both up,-unless she's tired, but she's teething, so I think they'll both be up in a month or two. We haven't done anything to her ears either. I think it's genetic. And, welcome to YT! |
thanks suzy..im new and wil be getting a yorkie soon...trying to first read up books and talk to breeders... if i may....if a yorkie barks to much..besides saying quiet and using positive reinforcement ..is an ultrasound barking device ok to use...no collar?? thanks |
I think, after awhile, when the hair on their ears gets longer, their ears will go down due to the extra weight from the hair. I don't really think there's much else that can be done. |
1 Attachment(s) I think if they havent been taped up or trained in any way. They will naturally stay floppy.. My pennys did.. |
Maddie's are up. But if the hair on them gets too long they start to flop over. I like them up, so I keep them cut short. If you like floppy ears I would recommend letting the hair grow. In time, they will probably stay down. |
