a question about a puppy cut when i got autumn star in march her hair was sort of long and tangled so when my groomer came to groom my pug i asked her to give her a puppy cut. little did i know that i would be horrified by what she looked like. people thought she was a chihuahua. i am not going to cut her hair again for awhile but i am wondering how long does yorkie hair take to grow back to a nice length? some people have told me that they leave the body hair short and the face longer. what do most yorkies get? thanks a bunch for your help, :animal36 |
I get puppy cuts on my boys! Mostly the body hair is maybe an inch to an inch and a half long, I get their bellys cut really short bc they lift a leg and if the hair is too long they pee all over themselves! and then they always smell bad! haha Anyways, I have 2 boys and one has up ears so they tip the ears (shave the top and keep the rest fairly long) and the snout is probably 2 -3 inches long and cut angling up from jaw bone to the base of the ears! they look so cute! I posted pics of them somewhere on here with their first puppy cut. Let me see if I can find them and post again! |

I go with puppy cuts also. I think Rhapsody and Tiger look adorable in them. My avatar shows a good picture of Tiger's puppy cut. They leave about 2 inches, and they shave the tips of the ears. Good luck!!! :) |

1 Attachment(s) Many of us have been there- it will grow before you know it. I had a groomer almost scalp Gracie once- I thought I'd die! If you decide to keep a puppycut, you might ask her to try a 0 clip on. It seems to leave them a little fluffier. Here's a picture of Sugar with a cut done in either a 0 or 1 clip on. It's the same one as my avatar but it's hard to see. |

Caren that is so funny because when I dropped mine off, Chris told me you were bringing your's and your mom's in. I was thinking how funny if Spike and Murhpy were like, hey, long time no see! yay, we're here at the same time! When I picked mine up, Chris was doing your mom's dog. |
