What to do about the greasey's?????????? After you baby has been in the yard playing, do they look like they have the greasey's to you? Lily's head especially looks that way often. I don't know if she needs a daily bath or what. May be it is just the type of fur she has. Anyone else deal with this? |
How old is Lily? She is probably just in the in-between stage with her coat. I think that is a good thing and that the greasy hair stage is a sign of good things to come by way of a silk coat! Tino has a softer coat so he never went through the weird hair stage, but Bunny on the other hand looks like a guinea pig that got into a bottle of baby oil! She is 17 weeks and will have a silk coat, but this in between stage is rough on the eyes! |
Lily is also 17 weeks. Yea, glad to know we aren't alone! Very glad to know she will probably have a nice coat later. |
I don't get just how this little raggamuffin THING is going to look like a little silk princess in a few months, but that is what her breeder and all of the books say! The puppies that are really fluffy and cute (well, they're all cute) usually end up with a soft coat and these little buggers that are indecipherable have the silk coats. I'm such an airhead bc I asked my friend if dogs can sweat bc Bunny's face and head always looks like she is wet/greasy...my friend quickly informed that dogs pant, not sweat... What do I know??? :D |
That's good too know. Krishna is 18 weeks old. He had a bath just yesterday and he looks like I've slicked him down with baby oil. How long should I expect his hair to stay this way? Will he be a little easier to brush after the whole baby hair thing is done? Julie |

I have no clue??? I hope its soon though bc she looks like she stuck her paw in an electric socket! |
LMAO, us too! |
Would any of you breeders have any info on this greasy look question? |
Dixie is just 11 weeks and has had this greasy ragged look since I got her last week. This appearence was what my post fur changes was about. After viewing some photos here and reading your pups look same I see it is just a stage in her development. I brush & comb her at least 10 times a day and it does help her look much better-well until she plays again and her hair looks ragged, greasy again. |

If it isn't either of the above, I highly recommend two products from Plush Puppy - the itchy skin shampoo and the deep cleansing shampo. Both dilute well and both really help to clean and condition the skin. |
