Eating the pooh ??
 
Just wanna hear what U say re ..... ..... A friend of mine has got 2 yorkies also. She battles with the one cause he is eating his pooh. She is feeding them Eukanuba. She has tried to ignore it , or to immediately give him something else to do (play with him when she sees that he wants to eat the pooh) The dogs really get a lot of attention. What is wrong with them ??? HELP !!!

Personally I wouldn't use any Iams products but it's your choice. :(

Have you tried feeding the pooer pineapple it sometimes stops the poo eater because it contains an enzyme that makes the poo taste bad.

I've also heard someone say that you should spray bitter apple spray on it. It works on other stuff they chew on too! But don't freak out, it's a common problem. And I agree about the Iams thing!

I have 3 yorkies,one of my girls like to eat her poop,actually anybody's poop.When she spots it,she would run and get it and bring it to her bed and eat it.It's like she's afraid the other two would beat her to it.But now I haven't seen her do it that much.I would see it in her bed,so I assume she's not eating it anymore or saving it for later but I got to it first.
Sorry I wasn't much help,I'm on the same boat also.

Hi everyone its funny these postings should show up tonight as im going through the same thing. my baby is 9 weeks old and eating her poo I rang my vet today and she said it is because they are missing something in their diet I also spoke to a vet nurse in a pet shop and she said the same thing their body is lacking in something. The other reason could be if they have been really told off for messing and have been frightend. Im going to put her on a new food they recomended. :) dianne :)

It's rarely "something missing in their food" it's much more likely that in the wild a dog will eat poop to hide it's self or weaker members of it's pack. It's perfectly natural behaviour it's just that we find it repugnant.
