Eye Goop Is there anything that prevents them from getting eye goop on their eyes? I give him purified water but that doesn't seem to help. Im thinking it has to be what you feed them that causes it? :rolleyes: |
I thought it was just something that happened in all dogs, and humans and other animals for that matter...I don't know...maybe someone more educated has your answer! :) |
im not sure...i have heard some people say that they put something in thier water ( for white dogs, etc) but i dont remember what it is....i am interested to know too...hopefully someone will answer soon!!!:) |
i too would love to know if there is any way to "fix" this. The hairs under Maggie's eyes are always wet. I wish there was something to do about it... |
I use Angel's eyes as a supplement and it has really cleared Ralfie's eyes up. I have hear putting apple cider vinegar in their water helps, I haven't tried this yet though. |

Max our yorkie, his eyes are full of wet goobers every morning, but it is not yeast. I just wipe them off & dry that area. I think it's do to the hair poking at night. He sleeps right up by my face & if his hair get to close to my eyes I have junk in mine by morning. If anyone finds a complete cure for this, they'll be rich. |

Try Apple Cidar Vinegar in its purest oragnic form! Start by using a few drops in the water each day, and gradually add more and more til yiou are using 1 teaspoon each day! It has helped for my Livvi! |

I was having the same problem with my baby boy. His eyes would be fine in the morning but with activity (running after my other yorkie), his eyes would run so bad. His vet put a dye in his eyes and then used an UV light. Moisture should have come out of his nose, which it did not. I was told that either his tear ducts are plugged or he does not have any. I asked if I needed to do something (like surgery or whatever was needed) and she said no, just wipe his eyes when needed. I live in a small town (1,200) so I don't have too many vets to get second and third opinions but from what I have read on the internet, that seems to be what others are saying. It is a pain to have to wipe his eyes, but only because he hates it and fights with me. I hate to put him through that but nothing else I can do. |

I have heard and seen that Canidae dog food helps those runny eyes. I have suggested it to a few of my clients and all but one have had success with it |

Someone on this site recommended a warm cloth wipe every morning, so I started doing that for my two and they actually got to the point of liking it. Also, if your dog smells it is usually caused by something around the face, so the extra attention also helps with odor elimination. |
