cure for CRANKY TAILS anyone ? ....this is a serious question, don't mean to offend anyone....just curious ! .....does anyone here have problems with cranky tails as we call them ? (that is the last wee bit of business that the yorkies have to crank out, and it always hangs onto their bottoms until it falls off who knows where - usually on your carpet for your feet to find !!!) .....my three are terrible for that.....in fact we have to check them, but the wee brats know it's there, and are soooo offended, that they run super-fast back into the house before we can catch them, and it lands on the carpet - the tinniest cone ! ......it's very hard to find if it has dropped off ! - you usually step on it first - thank heavens for our carpet cleaner, lol:rolleyes: Casper is the flyest of them all as if he has one, he bites it off and flicks it before we have noticed he has it ! We don't want kisses off him then for quite a few hours, eeeeek ! .....i have tried to trim the offending area, but they still seem to be bothered no matter what i do ! ....any suggestions to stop this caper will be very greatfully recieved - it wasn't them you know !:D |
I shave thier bottoms so we don't have any accidents |
......yeh, have tried that, but it still happens ????? |
LOL! My husband and I take our little girl outside to do her business and then we go into commando mode. My husband picks it up with the pooper-scooper and cautions me to "check her butt!" (thank you, dear). So I get "butt duty." We wipe her if we detect any smell. With 3, it would be a challenge. I've got my thinking cap on, but for the moment, I don't have a suggestion, sorry. I do sympathize tho. |

Tammy has been fine since we have had her - at least i haven't spotted any drop from her - - tears all over the keyboard here....:D ....it's doing my head in, and you're right, my hubby leaves it to me too - and you try and catch three of them at once !!! Casper needs his manhood wiped too or you get the wee round circle on your chair, eeeeek ! :( ....i am sure it is a wee dog problem as their business just isn't heavy enough to all drop to the ground ! ....they are all 4lbs in weight....i will have to start feeding them marbles, lol:) .....there is nothing worse than looking at this thingie on the carpet, and wondering what it is, and going to pick it up - a wee cone - and it's all hard, and then you realise it's THEIRS !!! tears.tears.tears.tears.......give me strength ! |

Alien Cling-On's We have problems with Cling-on Aliens at my house. Peppy is the worse and as soon as he realize that he has been attacked (or attached) by the Aliens he does the -Get The Cling-On Off Scoot. Winds up with a butt bath everytime! If you find a solution, please let me know -- Aliens are dropping like flies here in the south! |

LOL, you all are cracking me up! Well, my two are bigger, and have short hair, but Bernie has poo issues due to a car accident when he was a pup. So, he doesn't get back in the house without a but inspection first. He knows it, and puts up with it. Ginger never seems to have that problem, but she's a big girl so things probably, um, weigh more:rolleyes: |
:lol tears :lol tears OMG you guys are too funny!! I'm in stitches too. waiting for some advice as Pep is invaded by those 'Aliens' too from time to time lol |

the only thing i can suggest is the shaving of the area. that is what we do but you have already done this so i don't know |
I am the Cranky Tail this morning! The second mini baby was born around 3:30 am this morning (that is another story for Off-Topic). Anyway, I was sleeping late, or trying to at any rate, when hubby comes barging in holding the Cranky Tail Cling-On Alien King -- Peppy. Guess who had to give him a bath -- I hate waking up to stinky butts -- I had to bathe the poor sweet little dear BEFORE my first cup of coffee!!!:thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown Thank you to HighlandYorkies for starting this wonderfully informative and fun thread. |
I always know when there is one because Little Bit is scared of them & tries to outrun them:D |

...that's why the problem exists as they are soooooo fast that the wee thingie drops off somewhere - who knows where - before you can catch it in a tissue, and then you have the cone decorating your carpet:( :animal37 :eyetearss :animal37 :sidesplt:  :eyetearss :eyetearss |
haha this post has me cracking up!! anyway, I used to have that problem with my boy so we keep his bottom clean-clipped so there's no hair to encourage dingleberries lol on the other hand, this happens with my cats, except they don't drop off anywhere. it just stays stuck to their little behinds. baby wipes are perfect for the job... it's not the most fun thing in the world, but it keeps them clean and comfy. I'd recommend luring them with treats one-by-one or catching them before they run back into the house (crack the door a bit and head them off at the pass) and be ready with a baby wipe! :) |
you know...i wish you hasn't posted this thread!!!!!!! I was reading it last night and thought to myself "i have never had that problem with maggie....I have NO advice here..." low and behold....I wake up this morning, let maggie out, and she will NOT come back in. finally, she comes in but runs to her crate crouching down. I thought she was scared so I went to grab her and hold her to try and comfort her and sure enough....CRANKY TAIL!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER!!!! she was freaking out about it. I go and grab the baby wipes and go to clean her up but there is just SO much of it. So I grab the grooming shears and the clippers and got every bit of hair off of her bottom. Poor thing is running around with a bare bumm now. But it was the most disgusting thing!! I almost threw up about 8 times during the process!!! It was all caught up in her hair. GROSS!!!! now...with that being said...I am going to create a new post because I think she might be constipated....oye... |
......that's what mine do, lol....crouch, look offended and run about trying to shake the cranky cone off ! You are right if they get it caught in their hair and it is a softy, then it's bath time ! -oh dear, i must say, i don't know which is worse, crankies, aliens or dingleberries ? -any other names i wonder ? :D ....which do you think is worse, a shaved and itchy bottom or cranky alien dingleberries ? - shaving doesn't work with mine though - it's still a case of run, flick, and find with your foot, later ! .....the poor things, what a life ! :animal37 :eyetearss |
you are just too funny!!!!! when I shaved her bottom, she kept checking it out...like she was getting a "draft" and didn't know where it was coming from LOL |
I just call 'em as I see 'em they're "DOODY BALLS" I have called them dingles too.....LOL:yelrotflm:yelrotflm:lol tears :yelrotflm:yelrotflm |

I wish I could say I had some advice, but, I don't.....although this thread is seriously amusing. :p |
This post id funny and yet sooooooo true, hahaha. We call them cling-on's here and all of ours know they have to pass the butt inspection station before entering the house. This also allows for feet to be baby wiped when its rainning out, as well as a quick towel dry if necessary. I still cant stop laughing at the names we use for such senstive issues, lol. :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears |

Speaking of shaving their back sides....... Have you ever heard it called a Brazilian cut? I heard a pet groomer call it this the other day. I thought it was so funny!:D |
