Does It Take This Long To Adjust To A New Pup? We just picked up our 8 week old boy, Cooper on Monday. Carlee, is 23 months. She pretty much wants nothing to do with him. O.k., I expected this for a day or two, but really thought they'd be getting along alot better by now. How did your first act when you got your new pup? |
Sometimes it can take a week or two...but I betcha soon they will be best of friends!! Reece is the baby and dosent take well to new comers but he will warm up eventually...I do rescue work so when a newbie comes in the house he takes a while longer than my other two do to adjust...it will happen..dont worry!! It does take quite a while for everyone to get along as well as they will in the future. As long as she isn't being agressive, I wouldn't worry. |
I am sorry they are not getting along:( ...but I just wanted to say I have a Cooper & Carley too (different spelling though) and my Cooper is my older one and Carley is my younger one :) :) How funny!!! Another Cooper & Carley on YT! Mine got along from the get go...I am sure yours will soon!! |

When I got Pixie in January she was 13 months old and Cali was 19 months old. Cali is very laid back amd Pixie is a ball of fire. It took a couple of months for them to really get along. At first I thought what did I do, but they work it out. There are still times when Cali doesn't want to bother with Pixie and she backs off. They lay together a lot and play/fight. I just let then work it out and they did. |
Grayson loved our puppy from the moment she walked in the door the cats still won't come near her, we have had her a week now, but it does take time, though i think grayson was glad to see a new playmate! |
