PICS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME:rolleyes: :D :) |
I was so engrossed with gofetch last year that I did not plant anything at all. This year I will make an effort go back to planting my herbs and tomatoes on pots I hope. I did not realized how I missed having a basil (have had them every year except last year :( )until last christmas when I needed some for making ensalata caprese. I love annuals but know I won't have time to plant them :) . . .:( Hope you share pics |
I love annuals but I will also be looking in he Nurseries for a Honeysuckle plant. My Daughter also wants to plant some tomatoes |
We're starting fresh with our yard. We bought this house a year ago, totally gutted and remodeled the inside and now we're adding a room...after that we'll rebuild the boat dock and get our boat. Sooo...with all of that going on we really didn't have time for landscaping last year. This year I plan to plant a row of Dwarf Burning Bush shrubs between our house and the neighbor's, some Hostas or Bleeding Hearts in front of the deck, some kind of small colorful shrub next to the lower level of the deck, Pansies in the box at the base of the mailbox and possibly some planter boxes for the deck railing or window boxes, tomatoes in a raised bed and more Hostas at the back of the house. I'll also plant some Phlox or some kind of low flowering vine to grow over the edges of the boxes. We have a corner lot that's teared up with railroad ties so we have 3 or 4 different levels out front on 2 sides...I'd like to remove the grass, plant some bulbs and cover them with mulch or landscaping stones. I'm still looking through my (many, many) landscaping books for ideas and plant info. Now...if it would just get warm enough to plant something! |
I am so... lucky. :) My son loves to plant flowers. He went to Vo-tec school for that and worked in a greenhouse. Our yard always looks nice. Thanks to him.;) We have a lot of perennial plants/bushes in our yard. For the life of me I can't remember the name of this one bush, but we have 3 of them in our yard, They look like giant spider plants. I love those, they remind me of beach plants. |

We had a really late freeze so I don't have much to take pics of yet. We had tulips (dead now). We have 3 knockout rose bushes which are still in shock from the freeze. We also have 3 peony bushes, bearded irises, lilac bushes and daylillies. I am planning to plant a potted hibiscus on our front porch. I heard hibiscus love sun so I think it will do great on the west facing front porch. Any ideas from tall shade plants/bushes? |
I absolutely love hydrangeas all varieties and they are good shade loving plant/bushes as it depends on what variety because some get big and some stay small although they do need some sunlight to bloom. |
:D your garden pic is beautiful and serene i could certainly relax there. |
I'm not a green thumb, but I love to look at the flowers. Good luck with your garden!! |
