Does your yorkie do the same? I am just wondering if anyone else's Yorkies have the same attitude. When I am preparing Siu Pao's food, however hungry he is, he sits at the furthest corner of the house. Then when I am done, he wouldn't come near even when I call him to come eat. Eventually he will walk over slowly to his food bowl but he wouldn't come if I am there. I feel as if he is scared that I will force him to eat lol but I really think he thinks that way :p I got him when he was a puppy and we never never abuse him so I wonder why he acts like that? |
Piper is like that to, unless I put it right on the floor. I think she's afraid of the noise the bowl or plate makes going on the floor. |
His bowl has rubber base and I put it on the carpet so there is no noise when I put his bowl down...wish I could get in to his head to know what he is thinking  |
My daughter's MinPin runs and hides when he knows it's time to be feed! When the bowl is put on the floor he comes charging from where ever he is and eats:D We think he just wants to be surprised. Buddy sits by me and sits up with his two paws flapping a mile a mile wanting to be fed a sample. If I do not oblige he walks over and slaps the stove:p Who knows what goes through their minds but they keep us laughing don't they? |
1 Attachment(s) I have the opposite problem ....it doesnt matter WHO'S food I'm getting ready.... I see this every day and LOL Buddy - he slaps the stove ?? hahahahha You tell that mommy what you're REALLY thinking little dude !! Maybe he's being polite :p or had a bad experience with a dog & food agression before you got him ? |
Buddy slaps the stove??? Hahahahah lol hahahha :lol tears Did someone taught him that? hahahha |

My mom and dad's dog will not eat at her bowl. She will take a bite, and then walk into the living room to chew it up, and then back to her bowl for another bite! She goes back and forth until she's done. Who knows! |

Betty is in the kitchen supervising and looking for any crumb that might fall on the floor. She eats like a vacuum cleaner. That baby LOVES her food! |

Not my boy...he will jump up and down until I set his bowl on the floor. :D |

Toby actually takes me to his "empty" bowl and lets me know he is hungry and wants fed!!!! Then he sits right next to me while I prepare it, making these little whimpers just to make sure I do not forget what I am doing. Kallie on the other hand, just lays down a couple feet from their feeding stands and watches Toby carry on and me fixing the food!!! And then when I put the bowls into the stands, they smell it and chow down. |

Sachi is very odd about food. He will only eat on one of our beds. Then, he tries to take a blanket with his nose and cover the food up. If a blanket isnt available, he still does the same "cover up with a blanket" move with his nose all around his bowl.?. I think he has some form of doggy obsessive compulsive disorder. |
I also have the opposite problem. Wes always runs into the kitchen whenever something is being prepared. He's always convinced it's for him. :p |

morgan thinks all food is her food and prances around anybody begging for a taste. However, when its time for her dry food she doesn't even care. If there is wet food involved she goes INSANE and can't even wait for me to put the dish on the ground. if she was a cat i'm sure she'd try to climb up my leg to get the dish. |

but other than that...she doesn't care to eat much. which is why I am always shocked when she gaines weight. our other dog, the min pin...he goes NUTS over food. in fact, if you don't feed him when he THINKS it is time to eat...he whines and whines and whines. he is very "food motivated". our cocker, she doesn't care one way or the other. she eats all of her food every day but it sometimes takes her hours. she just kinda snacks. |
