Poor baby...shaking at Petland! I had to run into Petland today to get some supplies. They had a small yorkie. I'm not sure what was wrong with her, but she was shaking all over, like she was cold. I asked to hold her. She did not seem cold, I think she was just terrified!:( I wanted so bad to take her home with me! They were asking $1900 for her! I can see paying that to a breeder, but come on! Petland?!:( After a few minutes, with my kids on the floor, she calmed down and quit shaking. I just hope she is being treated okay!:( Poor girl!:( |
You are brave... I refuse to go into ANY store that sells animals. #1 - it makes me soooooooo upset :( #2 - I refuse to 'support' any store by making any type of purchase from them if they have amimals for sale  |
good for you....although seeing them in that condition breaks our hearts...but buying them doesn't do us any good...it only goes to support those terrible puppy mills...which i for one iam against! |
Poor baby!:( |
I would never buy a thing from any store that makes money off of the suffering of animals! That dog may have liver shunt. I'm sure she isn't healthy, and I don't know why she isn't with littermates unless they have already died. Red flag! |

that poor baby...she must be so confused and upset. |
I know Petland sells a bunch of high quality foods and such, but I refuse to buy ANYthing from there simply because they make money off of the purchases in order to keep their place in business...That place makes me cry everytime I drive by it... |
We went to Petland before getting Spicy for the kids to see a Yorkie upclose. What we saw was awful! We were put in one of those cubicles to hold himWhat This tiny tiny puppy was also shaking like crazy and the teenage girl there told us "that is normal." He was supposedly 3 months old but was the tiniest thing I've ever seen. His "bargain price" was $2500!!! We did have a terrible time leaving him there but there was no doubt that this was not a healthy dog or a decent place. I also kept telling my husband I think they must sedate the dogs there because they were all so lethargic. Thank goodness we did our research and ended up getting Spicy from a reputable breeder. I honestly didn't even know these pet stores where still in business! |
Oh, poor little thing...hope she's ok now... |
awwwww !! poor baby !! :( |

Awww....poor little thing. It is so hard to watch. Did you mention something to a Manager? Maybe it was having a sugar problem..... You have nerves of steel. I don't think I could even go in there.....honestly. Francie |
poor baby:( i will not go into petland i hate that place. |
Our Petstore that sells puppies is Uncle Bills. If they didnt have the best hamster food and beddiing I wouldnt go in there. Before I got yorkies I held one in there and it was shaking like that too. I thought all yorkies shake like that since that one did. Then I got mine and realized they dont. I dont know why pet store yorkies shake. Maybe being held all the time and being in those glass enclosures makes them nevous |
Ah Oh no... that poor lil baby just wants to be loved :( I hope she finds a loving home... |
gosh i just hate those places, wish they would all close,:( |
Poor baby!! Its places like that who should be shut down for good. I dont go into places where they have pets cause if I say something like that I would start a major fight and have alot of bad things to say to anyone who would listen. I wish people would stop buying things or pets from places like that and shut them dowm for good. |
Poor baby...that is so sad. |
the pet stores are asking big bucks for yorks these days. There is a lady from yorks town around here that sells to pet shops. She always looks well dressed and the puppies look nice but she doesn't want anyone coming to her kennel because she says it upsets her dogs and it takes along time for them to settle down. Makes me wonder. She allows the inspector. Jackie |
Believe me, I have avoided this store for almost a year! We have a pet turtle and he eats a special kind of plant. I have not been able to find it anywhere in my area, except Petland. I have been driving about an hour out of my way to go to another pet store that supplies this plant, but yesterday I was desperate and I had to go in! I told myself that I would not look at the puppies and I would go staight back, get what I needed, and leave. Well, what do you know...... When I walked in the door one of the employees walked right in front of me carring this little yorkie. At that point my plan flew out the window because my children were begging to hold this little girl! My heart just broke when I saw her! When I saw that she was shaking all over, I asked the manager what was wrong with her and she said "Oh she's alright, they all do that!" I don't think so! My first thought was her liver, but after a few minutes she calmed down and started playing and acting fine. I just think she was terrified!:( I do hate those stores, and believe me, I won't be back! |
Your kids were probably wondering what was wrong with the little yorkie too...I agree with you, I avoid those stores! |
I went to Petland a couple of times, but I had to stop going because those little puppies were making me cry! I hate how they have them like in a store window, like a "thing". That cage is sooo cold and sad! Poor babies :( |
