Convincing advice~ ok i need help coming up with different ways to intice my boyfriend to let me get another furbaby...he knows that once he opens that pendoras box it will never close. I have one already but I definate;y would have hundreds if I could manage...lol. I want some clever suggestions about what i could say or do to him (pg 13) that would change his mind and rolling eyes. I would just go get one~ but this time I want to be fair to his feelings, well sorta until he says no haha! |
Well if it were me, I'd just bring the new furbaby home and tell the old boyfriend he could leave, but the dog wasn't. Of course, I realize this is not an realistic option for most, but so far it has worked with my husband...:p |

My husband doesn't really care when I bring home another animal as I want them, pay for them and their care, food, vets, toys, treats, etc. I also take really good care of them, clean up after them, etc. That would be a start. Explain how you already take such good care of your Yorkie so what's another? You would take wonderful care of another. I also think it helps to throw in that you really want to discuss it with him as it matters to his feelings. Guys like that kind of stuff. But in the end, turn on the girl charm and tell him how happy it would make you as much as how happy your guy makes you. Make sense? |
thats a hard question to answer seeing as how i dont know know your bf and the best way to talk him into something like that. but my hubby is fairly easy to talk into things when they are realistic and i dont see why having another furbaby wouldnt be realistic. my hubby usually swayed easily and when its not so easy i bribe. i got my anna and hubby got xbox live and another controller he still jokes he should of asked for more as much as anna cost but he loves her just ask much as i do and youd be surprised at how many of his friends come over to play that dumb xbox and find themselves snuggling with my little anna. its to cute. |

We got Marley first....my husband had strong feelings about discipline and other things....after a couple of weeks he was sleeping with us:wub: he loves him...eight months later I wanted a new addition and he said no (of course that was unacceptable answer):rolleyes: ....so what I did was to start looking for one, once I found her I told Carlos that I just wanted to go see the puppies.....guess what happen????:D :D ...we got Leeloo and he loves her too. P.S. remember the man is the head, but the woman is the neck. And she can turn the head any way she wants. ;) ...I love this hehehehe! |

Maybe you could say that since there will be two, they can keep each other company, and you and your bf can spend more time together without the furbabies. Of course it won't be true, because two will be even more fun than one, but at least its convincing. :rolleyes: Good luck! |
:lol tears It is a good thing that you are so respectfull of your boyfriend's feelings concerning a new furchild. Be honest and tell him -- of course it always helps to love up on him and cry and beg a little, it serves to build the delicate male ego :lol tears But bottom line you have to decide which is more important to you, the current boyfriend and one furchild or two+ furkids and a new boyfriend. |
5 months after I got Wes, I knew I wanted a little girl. At first, my boyfriend wasn't really for the idea, but I just kept talking about how much I wanted a little girl and how happy it would make me. Finally, one day he asked, "Will it make you sooo happy?" I said, yes and we got Maddie soon after. :D P.S. I have started doing this again in hopes of getting number 3! :secret: |
Well, when I was ready for #4, it was a rainy Sat. afternoon, with nothing to do. I told DH I would really like to go to the breeders house and just play with all her babies (she has 19 yorkies total). He was game, and wouldn't you know it, she had puppies!:eek: Needless to say, that's how my little Halo came to be, and if you read my earlier post, she was actually a gift to us from the breeder.:D How could he say no to that?? LOL! Good luck, don't give up...he give in. |

My husband was definitely against me getting another furbaby, not because he doesn't love them, but because of the restrictions on us (travel etc). I basically told him that I am an excellent wife, I work hard, baby him, take care of my home, don't cheat, don't overspend on cloths and other luxuries and that my dogs are my total happiness and I will never be without them and whats one more when we already have two. In the end, I basically told him, I want his support but that I was doing it anyways, and then I started showing him photos that I printed out of various puppies etc. Now of course, he has pretty much come around and our pup is part of the family!!
