HOUSTON I have a Problem???? I went to the Cronicles website and answered a few adds for Yorkies up for sale and ok I got a responce to one and he said he was out of pups but he knew a man that is a missionary who moved to Africa and is looking to re-home his pup so I contacted him. Then not more then 5 mons later I get another responce same type of situation a man and wife missionaries moved to Africa and are looking to re-home their pup, then lo-and-behold I get a third message same situation a lady missionary who moved to Africa wants to re-home her pup? Any thoughts, Is this a SCAM, have you heard about this in Houston going on??? It is just plain odd that three inf=dividuals would ahve similar situations, one asked for money to be sent Western Union, the other seemed more sincere in post, said do not bother writting abck if you don't plan to take good care of pup. STRANGE!!!! |

warning! warning! danger will robinson!!!:D |
its a scam, i got an email just like that. |
BIG SCAM! I got an email from someone saying they were moving out of state had 3 puppies and I could have them for FREE but had to pay shipping. I had to send a Western Union money order in the amount of $600 (that's $200 for each pup to be shipped). I told them no thank you but they kept sending emails. Long story short I finally got them to send me a name, street address and phone number so I contacted the Attorney General in Texas. I haven't heard if they did anything but I havent heard from the scammer since! |
ALL Scams !! You should report them to the Houston Chronicle |
Definitely a scam!! Had the same issue with the Ft. Worth Star Telegram when looking for a puppy. You should report it to the paper. |
That's a very common, well-known scam. I went through that about a year and a half ago. It sucks that Houston Chronicle won't take steps to take those ads down. MOST of the ads on Chron are like this unfortunately. I've emailed Chron a few times reporting them, but to no avail  I always mess with those scammers and tell them to send me a picture of the pup with them holding a penny or something like that, but after I do that, they refuse to email me back or come up with some lame excuse as to why they don't think I'd be a good home for thier imaginary dog. |
Oh Yes, I've heard that one before more than once when I was looking for my Holly. |
It is a scam, they have been on a site I look at to. If you are still looking, in SE Texas there is a site that has dog for sale. www.southeasttexas.com go to classified and them to pet-dogs and in the search area just put york, so you get all of them. there are some breeders that post from the Houston area. |
yeah, total scam. it is so sad. many times, you will find the same pictures of the same puppies from different people. |
Yes, scam from the start. |
Like everyone else already said...this is a very widely known scam. Please RUN the other way! |
