What do you think?...... I gave Autumn a bath a little while ago and I think I got a little water down her nose. She started snorting and making the kennel cough sounds, not the gut sucking kind of kennel cough, like a light version of it. Now she's hacking and spitting up, not vomiting, spitting up. I haven't seen her get into anything to make her gag, if I got water down her nose could it cause her to act like this? I don't think it's anything serious or lasting but it concerns me. She's quiet right now, I wish we had sound on these forums. Sylvia I just needed to say that it really was just a little water, of course it wasn't my nose, but I really hate to get ANY water in MY nose. Could the water have run right down into her lungs if the situation was right? Sylvia |
My late baby Gracie used to do that to be dramatic! I think your girl is okay! Just watch her carefully! |
Thanks for your concern and your response. Autumn had one final hacking, choking episode and has been fine since then. Sylvia |
Sweetie - try putting water down your own nose and listen to the sounds you make as you cough and snort! That's how it feels - so no worries - it is uncomfortable for her, but not a healthrisk in any way *comfort* Give her a day or 2 - if she still snorts you can take her to the vet... |
Maybe she could still FEEL the water in her little nose ? I used to be a competetive swimmer and can tell you it that feeling can stay for quite a while - then moves to your throat - She may have also continued to cough because I think they get a little upset when they do that - Chanel has done that a few times when playing in the hose... and once she gets it out of her system she's fine and ready to go again... I bet she looked beautiful after her bath |
The first time I gave Toby a bath the same thing happened. It really scared me...I thought he had Kennel cough or something. But after about 1/2 hour or so, he stopped and all was fine again. Now when I bathe him I make sure not to get any water up his little nose. |
