We don't do it , not because I think it is gross....but Gordon doesn't try it. He is a cuddler. When you pick him up he wants to cuddle in your arms and snuggle. I do kiss him on his head. |
Puppy tongue kisses??? YEP, YOU BET!!!!!:D I kiss their little face, mouth tongue and they kiss my face and mouth. I LOVE their little pink tongues. Sometimes when they are licking "MY" toothbrush, I could just grab those little tongues and kiss them. :D They are not as germy as people. It's THEM that should be turned off by our nasty mouth. :D Anyway, your not a bad parent just because you don't like puppy kisses. ;) |

I thought it was just me. Im glad you published this thread. I wanted to ask the question but thought I would get a lot of heat for it. I didn't grow up with animals either, my family still can't believe I have a dog. I love him to death as well but kissing on the mouth/face is not allowed. He will try to sneak one in though! (see pics) I agree with everyone else, it is your preference, you are not a bad mom for not allowing it.;) |
No mouth kisses here either. Maybe cheek and chin when he catches me. He gets lots of kisses on the head.;) |
I just love puppy kisses. I am always with my babies and see their every move, I know how clean they are so I allow them to kiss me. My boy is the one that loves kissing...LOL |

I don't have my yorkie yet but I have a dog I'm raising as a service dog, and I'm getting a mastiff puppy in May (then the yorkie will come hopefully next spring). I have to say that for me it depends on the dog and the mood I'm in. The service dog really doesn't give too many face kisses, so I never worried about him. I never let other people's dogs kiss my face (ew!), and I don't like when my mom's dogs kiss my face (their breath smells funny...). If one of my dogs have something nasty in his smell, I wouldn't let him kiss me, but I'd forget about that in about 10 minutes :D I hate the accidental tongue-in-the-mouth though...that weirds me out! And their saliva is kind of sticky...It really depends on my mood though...:animal36 |
I love love love puppy kisses and I know where her tounge has been..... So I won't kiss her right after her private session. And she is a poop eater so she gets brushing teeth before hand. Buuuut she doesn't like giving me kisses..... She gives plently of them to other people.... I'm little hurt but still love her to death!!!!! |

You are not alone. There is no kisses on the face for sure. I cant even stand it when he licks my hands or feet. He will even lick my clothes and that also drives me crasy. Now who sounds like the bad guy. Dont get me wrong he gets his fair share of loving, plenty of hugs but no kisses..... |

I forgot to mentioned earlier. Momiji doesn't give me kisses so I have to bribe her with some treats... It is the only way to get kisses from Momiji. So I call her little prostitute... :eek: |
4 Attachment(s) Both of my babies are KISSING FOOLS!!! :D and I wouldn't have it any other way. I LOVE their kisses, I crave them all day, I long for them. The biggest highlight of my day is going home for some puppy kisses. I mean just LOOK at my babies tongues, they are long, wet and ready for kissing. Here's a couple of pics of me and Coco kissing. I will have some soon of me and Rocco..hehe..I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEIR KISSES! Everyone is different but I personally show my love and affection through kisses and I would be sad for them if they didn't get it. My b/f doesn't like his lips licked but he likes getting ear kisses and he kisses them on their heads :p |
I love doggie kisses!! As far as my yorkie and maltese, my mom's maltese/shih-tzu, and my aunt's yorkies, bring on the kisses :) They are my babies and they love to give kisses! Their mouths are clean, they don't eat poop or anything, and I clean their teeth all the time :) |

You are not a bad parent! Just depends on what you can take and what you can't lol. We do allow mouth kisses in my house. :p I've grown up with dogs. It's really no big deal for me. Maddie is disgusting, and sticks her tounge in your mouth. It grosses me out, but there's no way I can possibly keep her from doing it. If I pull her off of me, she turns her head sideways and licks the air. Tucker doesn't really lick mouths much, but he gives "kiss" on mouth by like pecking your lips. it's adorable. :p Rusty, the lab, is also allowed to lick my face. he's not disgusting, and he only does one or two kisses before moving to some other part of my body, like my arm. or my hand. or my foot. :rolleyes: |
