Traveling Hi all. I am going on a trip in a week and bringing Daisy. It is her first time flying and I am a little nervous. Any helpful hints?? |
I brought Violeta from Paris (10 hrs) when she was 3 months old, they let me bring her with me in the cabin. What I did was I brought with me her water cup, a ziplock with some dry food, 2 to 3 treats, toys and wee wee pads. She would sleep most of the flight but when she woke up from time to time I would first give her water, put her in her wee wee pad right on the floor on my seat (if the airline lets you, if not go to the bathroom) and then offer her some food or treat. She would play a little and go back to sleep. (take some honey with you just in case she doesnt want to eat). Its really no big deal if she is used to her carrier, if not start now taking her everywhere in it to get her used to it. :) |
I haven't taken mine on an airplane yet but I am sure you have already checked out what shots she needs, gotten an airline approved carrier and learned the rules of the airline you are flying on. Everyone I've talked to have said that even thought they tell you you have to leave them in the carrier, they usually end up being passed around from flight attendant to flight attendant, so I don't think they are as strict as they let on. If your baby is prone to car sickness, they may get air sick too. I have heard that ginger snaps help with that. :D :D :D |
I'll be traveling with mine in cabin to Ecuador. I'm glad to hear it may not be that strict...cause i'd like to take mine out of his carrier if i can. I'm not too concerned about the airplane. I'm more concerned about him not getting sick while he's in Ecuador. Does anyone have any tips of how to keep him healthy? Are there vaccines out there that he should be taken before flying into Ecuador? |
Thanks for the replies. She does tend to throw up when she is in her carrier (I assume from car sickness). I just hope the noises of the plane does not make her nervous or worse, bark!) |
