She hates her clothes... I am getting frustrated with Annie, no matter what I do she does not like to wear clothes :( I have even tried simple lightweight t-shirts and she will lay down and barely move for hours until I take them off of her. She is so cold sometimes, I know they keep her warmer ((and some are just really really cute :D )) She is almost 5 months old now. Any suggestions? Kasey & Annie |
Mine don't like to wear clothes so I don't really have any advice other than try putting clothes on for short periods of time and reward her after each session. |
Murfee HATES clothes. When I put clothes on him he freezes and won't move..or he puts his nose in the corner and just stands there. When it is really cold I put a jacket on him and if I take him outside he will do his business. I have such cute things for him too that are just sitting there. He's a stubborn little cuss though. |
mika used to HATE clothes too. she loves them now though:) just put them on her for a little bit at a time and she'll get used to it eventually |
Patty58 Annie does the same exact thing  She just stands there and acts like she can't move. I coax and bribe...I really want to dress her up!! Kasey & Annie |
I have one of each, Piper loves it and punkin hates it so we just don't leave punkins clothes on for very long |
well, Murfee is 3 so I can't say that he hasn't had time to get used to it. What I do when I really can't resist is dress him and then just carry him with me. It's not like he whines or anything, he just won't move. So if I carry him then everyone can see him in whatever he is wearing 'cause I think he looks so cute in his clothes. |
Misha hates wearing clothes, does the same thing, just lays there. She doesn't even like her collar on for walks. She wouldn't wear a harness at all, until I bought a harness from Amber lv. It's clothing for walking, & the velcro is great. I'm going to check into getting a couple of dresses made with a harnesses for my girls from Jodi. I think these are going to work. Have you tried them? |
Wrigley used to do the same thing. She would freeze and not move or hide under something or stay plastered in your lap! She's 9 months old now and we just kept putting clothes on her and she's pretty much fine now! I can't say she loves clothes, but she will act normal, run, play, etc... Persistence is the key!! |
Pipersmommy I really should try that. I have to put her harness on to go out ((she hates that too)). I will look into ordering one. Soon, she will need her own closet :) Kasey |

I say just put clothes on her everyday(or every other) so that she can get used to them. Even if she doesn't like them after a while she will feel like it is part of her. When it's hot out just put a little tee shirt on her or something light, she will eventually get used to it. London doesn't care for clothes but I put them on her and she doesn't mind. Sometimes if I put a new dress on her she will run to her bed and sit there, just look around and not move. But eventually she does to get water, eat. I also carry her around everywhere cause she doesn't like to walk much :p She's so spoiled....Actually I just got an idea....I think you should put something on her and put food in her bowl on the other side of the room and see if she will go to it. |

I agree. After 2 weeks, of putting them on her every day for short periods of time she LOVES wearing clothes (thank God...she has SO many lol). She still doesn't like it when I actually put them on her, but once they're on she's happy as a clam! I live in Canada so she's cold most of the time (especially at only 2lbs 2oz) so there's some stuff she really needs to wear. In fact, right now she's sleeping on my neck in a sweater because my room is very cold. |
Maybe try something with no sleeves for starters. Teddy stands stiff and won't move if there is even a hint of a sleeve. But he will walk just fine even in a heavy vest-type coat as long as there are no sleeves rubbing on his legs. |
