Hi everyone,

I just found your forum and I'm very excited to browse and get to know everyone! A bit about me....I'm a dog fanatic! And of course a yorkie fan too! My grandmother used to have yorkies, and my very first dog was a yorkie named Megan. She was the best dog I have ever had, and when she died I was heartbroken. I haven't had another yorkie since, and I now feel that the time could be coming in the future that I can have another one of these babies without feeling the heartache over losing Megan. Right now I am raising a Seeing Eye dog named Robert, who is a wonderful guy. I am getting a new puppy in May (not a Yorkie) and then I will probably wait a year or so until I get my yorkie. I'm one of those people that likes to start planning and organizing way in advance, so here I am! I must admit that I am a dog-spoiler too, and this yorkie baby already has a whole wardrobe...I have the philosophy that if I see it on clearance, I have to buy it because I'll never find it that cheap anywhere else! Plus it makes me feel like I'm not actually spending a bunch of money on dog clothes!! :wink2:

Ok enough rambling. I just wanted to introduce myself and I hope you don't mind me hanging around until I get my puppy!

Hi and welcome to YT. It's very refreshing and wonderful to see someone doing a bit of home work and preperation before getting a dog. I hope you do just as well in selecting a breeder, and not buy a puppy sight unseen and have it flown in from some BYB or mill.

UGH! I know just what you mean!!! I'm very paranoid about health and testing and all that stuff. I would never have a puppy shipped, just my own personal preference. The breeder I've been in contact with is actually near Pittsburgh and I plan on visiting a few times before I make any decision about a purchase. I don't want to mention names if that's not appropriate. But if anyone has any breeder suggestions in or around PA just to add to my research, I'd love that!

Hi Meredith... WELCOME!!! I'm Angi. I would definately read through the breeder section... there are pleny mentioned not use use and those that get good comments as well. If ever in doubt.... ASK. It is fine to state the name of the breeder and see if you can get any feedback about them good or bad.

You will find lots of helpful information and support on this site whether it be "my puppy is sick" emotional support or "LOOKY what I got... (new puppy)" where we all get so excited for you. When you need something just hollar. If you are in doubt if something in appropriate or not... just send a Private message to a specific person about your question.
