yorkeis and their size~ I am not sure how you can predict the size of the yorkie as my Charlie was an only pup to a mother who weighed 6 pounds and a father who weighed 4 pounds, andat his 12 week check up he as 4lb 12 oz...Then I have Henry who was one of 3 pups to a mother who weighed 4 pounds and a father who weighed 2 pounds and he weighed 5lb 2oz at his 12 week check up...So we get what we get and love them to death no matter what they weigh...My vet said they can easily become overweight pups if I do not follow his feeding guidelines of 1/4 cup 2x's per day for each pup, and feed them puppy food until 10months then switch to a adult food and still keep the portion the same size...I do add a treat to one of the feedings per day usually at breakfast I scramble an egg and split it between them or I fry up some ground turkey w/ a carrot grated into it and add a teaspoon of that to dinner feeding...They love veggies and I often give them a snack in the afternoon of a piece of celery or carrot...I made homemade soup last week and when they saw me get out the carrots they flipped out! :animal36 |
