My Azrael has "Frito-Feet"! I'm not kidding..........her feet smells like Frito's, even if it's only one day after a bath. Sometimes it doesn't smell for a week, but then sometimes it's a day after her bath and I have to wash her feet. Fritos is about the only thing I can think of that describes the smell. Anyone else's baby have Frito-Feet? |
LOL, I remember someone else posting the same thing sometime ago! I laughed then also because I can actually smell that smell when I think about it! Strange:eek: |
yes my baby has frito stinky paws :p :D |
My Pom has frito feet! Not my Yorkies. I love it!! |
When I read the title I was thinking it was a new bootie - like ducky slippers or something. I had to read the post b/c I just couldnt imagine how they were making a Frito slipper. :yelrotflm ok, now I know it's just a smell issue. Does she have the hair between her pads clipped? I think sometimes if you don't get that clipped short it can stink. Remember they don't bathe everyday like humans yet they walk thru grass (and whatever might be in the grass), sidewalks have all kinds of gunk so maybe try using a wet paper towel to wash her feet off every night and keep the hair between the pads clipped. |
I say the SAME THING! I swore it was from.. him peeing then walking in it. I don't know for sure what causes it.. but I know the smell... well. |
I think it smells sweet....my girls have Frito feet and I kiss on their feet all the time - I think they smell cute. |
Bobbi has frito-feet too.........it's not a pungent smell but like corn chips :D |

Both of mine smell like fritos. I love to smell their frito feet |
It's definitely Fritos! I've been saying that for years, even with my yorkies when I was a kid. Apparently, it's because they don't have sweat glands like we do, but perspire through their paws. At least, this is what I've heard. I love their little frito paws! :aimeeyork |
Does your dog food have corn in it? |
I love the smell of their frito feet. I have read two explanations for this -- it is from the sweet glands in their paws or it's from the scent glands in their paws that lays down a scent trail they can follow and helps mark their territory. I'm not sure which it is or if it's a combination of both. |
I vote for Option 2 -- then maybe this breed wouldn't feel so compelled to "mark" their territory in much less pleasant ways:) |
I'm not as persistant about keeping the hair cut short between the pads as I should be, so I will try that to see if it works. I don't feed my dogs dog food, and they haven't had corn since last summer when they get their own corn on the cob when we grill. They LOVE chewing it off. :) My Zadas feet don't smell like Fritos though, just Azraels. Since so many of you have "Frito-Feet" doggies, we should try and find some answers as to why. I find it intriquing. |
