Identity Crisis 3 Attachment(s) Friends, I'm getting worried here after reading a number of articles online about Yorkies. I know the official color of them. And the more I read, the more uncertain I am. Coffee doesn't have the standard color. In fact, come to think of it, the person who gave us Coffee said he's a special color. Now, I googled for information and found out that this so called special color are considered defects. Or perhaps Coffee isn't a purebred Yorkie. He actually reminds me more of my previous dog, a carrin terrier. I'm posting a few pics of him to share with everyone. Hopefully people here can give me some suggestions on what to do. Should I worry about him getting sick bc of the defect, etc? the upset thing is that we can't find the person that sold the dog to my friend. |
He looks to be a gold yorkie. A gold yorkie is not a standard color and not bred for, usually it comes by accident. But as for health goes, don't worry, gold yorkies, chocolate yorkies, etc are like other yorkies health wise. Now blue born yorkies is different, they usually do get sick and many die from this birth defect. There are actually a few members here who have gold yorkies, perfectly healthy, just doesn't conform to yorkie standard colors. He is a such a cutie by the way!! I would love to have a gold or chocolate yorkie someday!! |

Coffee is CUTE !! I don't know what kind of mix he is but he's just precious !! If the breeder was up front with you about what he'd look like then great and I wouldn't worry about his color at all...He sure looks healthy to me !! |
Coffee is TOO CUTE! Being a Morkie/Yorktese owner, I think I may see some Maltese in Coffee? Maybe he's a Morkie? Then again, I may be biased ;) Whatever he is, purebred or not - he's A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! |
If Coffee isn't a yorkie, he is very cute no matter what!! I love his coloring. He might lighten up more yet. The golden/blond yorkies are just so cute!! |
