before and after shots...trip to the groomer 4 Attachment(s) ok went to the groomer friday and well.... lets just say that i paid for the work BEFORE i saw what they did to my baby. and though i didn't say anything... prolly should have... i was not happy with the cut they gave Troy... but i think it was an honest mistake and that is why i didn't say anything. cause i really like the girl so... NEXT time i will tell her before that Troy is a GIRL!!!! i guess the pink collar wasn't enough. i just don't know what possessed them to cut all her hair off like that! and right after i made all those bows! i think she knows it looks stupid. |
Awww she's still a cutie! I can see what you mean because the top hair is definitely shorter but it still looks great!! Don't worry, I'm sure it will grow out super fast! |
You should call the groomer and tell her what you don't like about the cut. I know I make notes when I finish grooming so I can cut the same way the next time. Also, always ask for you furkid prior to paying so that you can discuss the cut - and tip accordingly. |
I'm sorry Troy got short hair now. She still is a pretty girl. Hair grow back before you know it!!! I know the feeling, my Momiji is a girl but Japanese name isn't clear what sex she is and top on that I have blue ribbon on her right now so people ask if she is he or she. :D |
Even a blind person could tell it was not a boy when grooming. Anyway, I'd let her know how unhappy you are with the cut and maybe the next one will be free or at least a big discount. |
Duhhh....I don't believe a groomer should have to see a pink collar to know the sex of your dog. I would complain--especially if you gave instructions on how you wanted Toby groomed. BTW, Toby is still a cutie. |
yeah cause she wrote down male and i told her female. she changed it and still kept saying he. but i hadn't even thought to check down under! yeah thats dense. they even put a bandanna on her like a boy. think i'll be taking her to the other salon.. its a small chain. and i went to the one close to my house rather than the one i visited! |
Why would it matter if she was a boy or a girl to the groomer? Traditionally, a boy or girl yorkie would have long hair and a top not. Did you tell her how you wanted it cut? I took Percy and told them not to take a lot off and leave it long as I was growing it. Well, they cut his bangs shorter then Troys. I was sooo upset, I asked her why and she stated it was "easier to take care of" and "isn't it a boy?" I explained that one of the reasons I purchased a yorkie was that I loved their coats, and I wanted a long haired dog....in the end, I didn't pay for the cut. Groomers can get pretty up close and personal while they are grooming a dog...how could she not have noticed Troy was a girl? I mean...even if she was a neutered male...they do leave a little something there. :p |
What a beautiful haircut |
Oh! And I forgot to mention! Troy is BEAUTIFUL before AND after |
i don't know. the more i think about it the more i wonder what was the groomer thinking. do they usually put bandannas on female dogs? i think i may call up there today and ask them why they did that. i told them i to trim both her and Walker cause i wanted to grow them out. that is not a trim because they took off way more on the top of her head than anywhere else. thanks everyone. |
I took Misha to a groomer that different ones recommended. I got what I paid for. They put pigtails on her, & it looked like all they did was fluff her up. Her paws were still dirty. I think sometimes it's not bad to try different groomers. |
Oh I'm sorry... You'd think they know after you bring the dog in with a bow on her head that maybe the topknot IS staying... She is very beautiful and looks adorable nevertheless. |
Aww I am so sorry you and your poor baby went through this :( I know it upsets ya because I've been through it before too with my little man Steddy  It's not fun - and I know you must be aggravated...but can I just can that your baby STILL looks sooo adorable! :) She could be shaved bald and she would still be such a darling! Big hugs to you and Troy!!! |
I'm so sorry you had a bad groomer experience. Your baby still looks adorable though ;) |
Troy's cuteness still shines through -- but that does look like a bad haircut. She does not look fresh from the groomer's either -- still has eye gunk. I would go somewhere else next time. It does not look like this one has any Yorkie experience. Nice is not enough -- gotta do a decent job too. I tried several groomer's with my first Yorkie and had every range of talent -- from a lady who made her look show ring-ready to one who hacked her hair off in wads so uneven, I had to take her to another groomer the next day. They are not all the same with talent, experience or personal desire for quality. Keep trying til you find a good one. |
She still looks cute but easy for me to say - my heart isn't totally engulfed in Troy either. LOL. Think about how many times you have went to a salon and told them you only want a trim and they give you a whack job? Or you want a few layers and you leave with an afro? Sometimes people just aren't good at listening to what the customer wants. |
I am sorry, but she is still pretty :>) Angie |
