Do you dress your Larger Yorkies? Those of you with bigger yorkies, do you put little dresses and clothes on them? I usually only put t-shirts, sweaters and coats on mine but was wondering if those with bigger yorkies like to dress them? |

I have a bigger Yorkie boy, Buddy. He hates all clothes, however, in winter I put sweater's or coats on him after chasing him through the house to catch him. I have bought a couple of T'shirts which I put on him to his dislike. I recently purchased a harness vest and can't wait for that to come maybe he will like that. Other than above I won't buy anthing else because he just does not like to be dressed. |

I have a bigger Yorkie (11lbs) and he will sometimes wear a T-shirt or sweatshirt, but otherwise I do not dress him up. My biewer is also a bit larger at 7lbs and I do not dress him up w/ th exception of a sweater if its colder. When I do put anything on my Yorkie he just kinda sits there looking at me somewhat embarassed and he moves very slowly. Its as if he is saying.."Please take this thing off!!" Kathy |

at 10 lbs, yes i do dress lexi, but only on special occasions |

I dress chachi more in the Winter than in the Summer. He has some hoodies he wears and Pjs. He likes being dressed |

Mine are far from petite :) and LOVE LOVE LOVE wearing clothes - Chanel is the larger one and she gets so excited when it's time to get dressed |

I only put coats on them during the winter. They don't really like wearing clothes. Lexi Rae--Lexi always looks gorgeous in the pictures you post. She doesn't look like she weighs 10lbs. Max is also about 10 lbs but she looks so much smaller than he is. She hides it well ;) :p |

i dress brownie mainly for going out tho he rather be nekky inside |

I don't really dress either of mine up...they really rather be naked...lol. I do use harness vests on them at times. In the winter they hate jackets so they were bought for nothing. They rather brave the weather. |

My Zada is 8 pounds and Azrael is 7 and they wear dresses on special occasions only. If it's really chilly when we go anywhere or walks or bike riding, I put sweatshirts or hoodies on them. Around the house they don't wear anything unless it's chilly and then I put shirts on them. They also wear night shirts to bed. |

It's funny because in anticipation when I was getting Lulu I purchased two sweaters and two little ski coats for her. The coats were too big for her (xs) when I got her but they can almost fit now. Anyhow I was cleaning out my closet last night and I took them out and tried them on her...can you please tell me why she put up such a fight and then looked at me like I was stupid when I was done. She kept on trying to wiggle out of them and walked like she had a dead animal on her back. SO I guess when the next winter comes I will be selling them on YT so some baby that likes to dress up will be wearing them. |

Cooper hates all clothes, will wear a harness vest under duress, 'cause he wants to go really bad, he has a hoodie when it is really cold, again under duress, but he forgets about it after awhile. Carley wears a t-shirt pretty much every day, hoodies when we go out and dresses for special occasions like visiting Daddy at work. She is the most laid back little girl and never seems to mind what I put on her, plus I think she likes all the attention she gets! |

Yep! Sully is about 9lbs and he wears clothes almost all the time during the fall/winter/spring.....but it gets too hot for anything but bandanas here in Charleston in the summer. |

Let Dogs Be Dogs Absolutely not it is degrading for the dog to be dressed in human type clothes. Respect your Yorkshire Terrier. British Yorkshire Terrier Society - Campaigning on Welfare Issues. |

I do "respect" my dog, and I "respect" the fact that she gets cold here in Wa state and I am making sure to take care she doesn't get cold. I assure you I am taking excellent care of my dogs and their welfare! I also "respect" you for not dressing yours, everyone should do what they feel is best for THEIR dog...have a great day!:) |

None of my zoo wears clothes. Then I got my Bijou Yorkie right at X-mas time. We were having zero degree weather and dropping below zero at night. She refused to go outside (and heck I couldn't blame her LOL). Thus, I started using wee pads and bought her a few sweaters so she wouldn't shake all the time. She was soooooo cold. But now that the nice weather is here, we are naked and carefree EVERYDAY!!!! |

For the best of my Peanut's "welfare", he wears sweaters in the winter because he is COLD! he constantly shivers. I don't think its a matter of degradation at all. If you're a supporter of natural acts, then I suppose you dont wear clothing either...? |

The dresses my girls wear all have D links so I can attach a leash for safety....in the winter they wear nighties & sweaters cause they get cold.... I think most people with dogs that don't like being dressed don't dress them - but for those of us who do - let's not try to suck the fun out of it ok LOL !!!:D If you could see the happy faces some of us see when the clothes come out I think you'd change your mind. |

Cookie's my little boy and he truly does LOVE getting dressed! They are all tanks, tees or polo all light fabric. He goes nuts running and jumping in circles. He's a tiny guy and not much fat at all on his 3 lb body. Even though I live in FLorida, he shivers like crazy when he gets his bath. My house is always at least 70 degrees because hubby is an Eskimo! So I usually find Cookie under the sheets or in a laundry basket bundled up.I've taken him a few times "naked" to the pet supply stores and he's a total wreck shaking and trying to get into my shirt. If I put a blanky around him he totally relaxes and stops shaking . So I would have to say for some it's totally neccesary. If the furbaby is big or not is not a big deal. IF they love to be dressed up then who is it hurting lol By the way Villette after taking a break from YT. I came back and the first thing I saw was your girls in their new Harness dresses . OMG they looked like Supermodels. Really, really nicely done harness dresses! Genie,Cookie & Lola www.myspace.com/cookiefurbaby |

I sure do! Roagan is 14 pounds and I still dress him. Summer time though, its alittle too warm. He goes skinny dipping with us in the pool :p he doesn't like to wear a suit :D cooler weather he has a coat and sweaters and t shirts. He has 4 legged jammies he wore for over a day and a 1/2 that I had to make him take off ! I dress all my babies :) They are not my "dogs", they are my babies...my life |

I would love to dress my boys in cute yorkie clothes. They're bruisers ;) (9 and 12 lbs), and I know they'd look adorable. I've tried putting cute t-shirts on, but they just stand there stiffly and refuse to walk. Baxter rolls over and growls and tries to 'rub' off the shirt. Snickers runs to his bed and covers his head. (Guess he's embarrassed). Oh well. Guess I should be happy they wear their winter coats. :animal36 |

Lucy weighs 11 lbs and is a "girly girl" dog. She loves to wear dresses when we go out or have company. She especially loves her little dresses when she goes to the groomer for an afternoon of beauty:D I took both Lucy and Rebel to the groomer today and took outfits to bring them home in. Lucy was sooooo dainty in her pink with white polka dots dress with matching bow and Rebel thought he was handsome in his little green harness. In colder weather, they both wear sweaters or pull over shirts. |

Dayzee, my 11# dog gets a shirt put on her which settles her down; kind of like swaddling a baby. All the dogs wear harness outfits or dresses with a d-ring. Itzi the little one asks for sweaters or shirts; he goes to his drawer in the bathroom cabinet and either brings it to me if the drawer isn't totally shut or he sits in front of the cabinet and barks until I go and get him a shirt or sweater. |

No, Tinka looks like a girl wanna be in clothing! :D It just doesn't look right on her. The most we do is a tank top once in a while. |

I love the attention they get when I take them out. Once I took the original 5 to the dog park in matching harness vests--they got a lot of attention. I wish I had taken my camera then and got a picture--they were cute beyond descriptiona. |

I have always wanted a larger yorkie. I fell in love with one at the park and he was about 15-17 pounds. He may have been mixed with something else but adorable and he had a hat and bandana on. I would definitely dress a larger one |
