I Have A New Rescue - Frankie Baby!!! I drove for 8 hours today, to Corsicana and back to pick up Frankie Baby. Someone had turned her into a kill shelter. She's in desparate need of dental work and her ears/eyes are infected. I bathed her and she looks 100% better and you can tell she feels better. I cut about 1/2 inch off all her nails and used about 50 Q-tips on her ears. So, first we'll go to the beauty shop to get all the matts cut off and then off to the vet. She must look her best when Dr. Bob sees her! Chloe and Darla are still checking her out. They're both sweeties, so I'm sure they'll all be napping together before long. I'm excited. Not sure how old she is, but she surely will be spoiled rotten here. Next, I get a bath and relax after today's adventure. Keep Frankie Baby in your prayers that all goes well with the vet. Her teeth are my major concern. Other than that, nothing a pound or two won't take care of. Jacki & The Girls Chloe, Darla & Frankie Baby |

Congrats and Frankie Baby is a very lucky little girl to have been found by you. I can't wait to see pics of her. |
Well Bless your kind heart. I wish you well and the best of health for Frankie. Love the name. |
Congratulations on your new girl! Finally, her luck has changed and she found someone that really cares about her. I'll say a prayer that she has no major problems and that you both enjoy each other. |
What a sweetheart you are to do this. I am sure you will be repaid 10 fold in love and kisses (best kind of repayment anyway). You went to Corsicana? I moved there when I was 18 from Colorado. It was a little dinky nothing town in those days. I can't even imagine what it looks like now. I worked at the one and only steak house (K-Bob's Steak house). LOL. What a small world. |
Thanks guys! Poor little thing. After her bath and a meal, I gave her a break and then I set out to remove all the matts in her hair. I cut for a good hour. There were sticks and all kinds of stuff in there. I just couldn't bear it. I guess the groomer will have to cut her really short, but that's okay, it's summer. She's been asleep beside me in the recliner ever since. She'll have a nice warm bed to sleep in tonight. I swear, I'd have a dozen if I could afford them! Her coloring reminds me so much of my sweet, precious Chester, my first rescue that I lost a year ago October. I'm so stinkin' hooked on these little critters! Everyone please pray that she does okay with the vet. Since I have no idea how old she is, I hope she makes it through the anesthesia okay. Those teeth have got to go. Thanks again guys and I'll post photos as soon as possible. I haven't invested in a digital camera yet; too busy with the house and dogs. But, will come up with something! Jacki |
Bless your heart for rescuing this little one. I can just about picture her laying next to you in the recliner saying "this is my new mommy and I love her so much for saving me". Good luck with the teeth. I pray that everything will go well at the vet. |
Oh girl that just impressed me no end !! Good for you and you have my prayers all goes well at the vet. What a good person you are and I know she's going to be your forever companion with the TLC she's getting from you....she'll feel better in no time and all the best to you !! How exciting yet so sad there's so many that need rescuing..... Welcome Home Frankie Baby !!! :big_hug: :big_hug: :big_hug: |
I'm sorry to tell you guys that the news on Frankie was not good. What I thought were abcessed teeth was actually a cancerous lesion that covered the better part of her lower jaw - about the size of a quarter. It had burst so we made the decision to have her put to sleep today. The vet said that's why the odor was so bad. I couldn't bear the thought of it being so painful for her to eat, even soft food. It is so amazing how these little creatures can get under your skin in so little time. She was only here less than two days and I had already fallen in love. My thoughts now turn to my sweet, precious Chester meeting her on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. I know they're romping and playing, pain-free and happy. Thanks for all your prayers. They were answered, just not in the manner I was hoping for. Jacki |
My heart is breaking - I'm so sorry! Just know that you gave that Yorkie baby love and care and a warm place to land so the end of her life was wonderful. Bless you for caring so much for this little one. |

Oh I just ready this... I am so sorry. Poor thing.:( |
I am so sorry for your loss..But your heart is larger than life itself..you gave that baby a loveing arms and kisses and prepared her for her Lord. Bless you..I am sure she is playing and telling everyone about her new mommy she has on earth. |
You were an angel who made Frankie feel loved and cared for during her last days on earth. She must have felt like she was in heaven already, just being with you...and you surely eased her passage into the next world. God will bless you for your kindness and willingness to help one of His needy creatures! RIP Frankie... |
