My furbabies eat earthworms... It seems to be earthworm season in my neighborhood. They are on all the sidewalks and in the roads. I can't take a walk without dodging them and my 2 think it is such a treat to pick up and eat the dried up dead ones. YUCK! I heard once that they are protein and they aren't bad to eat. Is that true for dogs? We may be hibernating in the house until "worm season" is over!!! |
Betty smells the dried up ones and rolls on it!! I saw her rolling a few times and wondered what it was that attracted her. Then our Border Collie rolled in the same spot! I had to really search the area to see what it was. I finally saw a tiny piece of dead worm:rolleyes:. I am worse than them because I smelled it to make sure it wasn't rotten-smelling:eek:  . It wasn't...thank heavens. |
Chloe loves dried worms (worm jerky!! :p ) There should not be anything to worry about, as they are protein with a little dirt. The only problem for me is that they are so attractive to her that when she goes out to pee, she wants to forage for worms all the time. And I don't care for them being brought into the house! LOL. |
:D LOL!!! Both my girls forage for the delectable earthworms! |
OMG Mackenzie does the same thing!..she rolls all over them and chews on them like they are worm jerky! :p |
 Worm jerky:D |
Worms! Ive caught my lilttle lady trying to eat a, ooo crushed snail:eek: , I guess i'll have to look out for the worms too then! lol!:animal36 |

 I don't wish to alarm anyone, specially because I am not sure if I am remembering things the right way, but my kids pediatrician in Mexico told me once we had to be careful in washing the kids after playing in the soil, because the worm eggs that you can find in the dirt, will hatch in the human stomach and as a result you will have a kid with worms... ( isn't it disgusting???), so, my point would be, I don't want my oh soooo kissing yorkies giving us wormy kisses... if that makes any sense... So, again, I am not sure if this may be possible, but, it does not sound out of place to me... On the other hand, most of us deworm our pets periodically, SOOOO.... lol I think I just answered myself!!:D |
Ewwwww.....wormy kisses. YUCK. Mine also love to roll on dead, dried up worms. One day my precious, petite, dainty, little Daisy-girl walked into the house with a dead worm riding ON HER BACK!!!! She was taken directly to the bath tub. After worm-rolling they are so happy they want to dispense yorkie-kisses. YUCK again. |
