Albon For Tearing
 
I've Had Henry For 2 Weeks Now. I Was Reading The Post About Tearing. Henry's Previous Owner Gave Me Albon, I/4 Tablet Evey 48 Hours, Said The Vet Gave It To Her For Tearing. I Did Some Research On This , This Is An Antibiotic. I Am Not Happy About Giving This To Him. I Will Call The Vets Office Ahen They Open,
Anyone Hear Of This For Tearing.

From what I have read on your past threads, Henry is 18 months old. That is old enough to use antibiotics. It will no longer stain the teeth. As for using it on a yorkie, their hair is dark & if you don't see staining, I would look to use something else. Max tears alot also, I just try & keep the hair out of his eyes & wipe his goobers off every morning. Misha my Maltese I have tried everything. The watering of her eyes stain awful, a very dark red yeast. So I use Tylan.

Albon is used to treat coccidia. I am sorry but your breeder lied to you. Coccidia is very common in puppies, she probably thought you wouldn't get the puppy if she was honest about it. Coccidia is a single celled organism that can hurt puppies if left untreated. On the bright side, at least your breeder cared enough to treat the illness instead of letting you find out through vet check-up.
You should take a stool sample to the vet and get it checked out. If your dog still has coccidia, the vet will probably tell you to continue with Albon. If there is no sign of coccidia, you don't need to give your dog Albon. Your best guide would be the vet's advice. Good luck.

Boy, was I having a blonde moment. I thought that name sounded familiar. Piper was on that for Coccidia.
