Terror At The Park Today!!! Today I was walking the furkids at the park. It was so peaceful, there was no one else around. Suddenly, a big HUGE park lawn mower appeared over the hill and crossed the street and came right for us. The area we were walking in (on a path) had already been mowed and that was why I was walking there. The dude on the mower (he was a big burly dude too) came so close to us that I had to jerk the leashes to pull the pups close to me. I mean he cut across a big path of ALREADY MOWED grass to come at us. As soon as I started walking again he cut a sharp corner right in front of me and did it again. I had to jerk the leashes back for a second time. Then he rode on the trail right in front of us so we had to smell the gassy fumes. I turned and walked the other way and then he did a big circle around and came in our general direction again, but not as close to us. There was no one else around anywhere. What should I DO??? I want to call the Parks Dept and complain but I am afraid that if he sees me again (which I know he will), he will do something WORSE. HELP!!! What should I do??? I love this park, it is peaceful and really nice and I want to keep going there. But now I am kinda scared. |
I'd report him. If you are worried he'd do it again (which I can't see how he would remember you.), you could always just not give your contact info. |
I'd definitely report him:mad: |
You should complain. I'm sure the Parks Dept. would not be happy to hear about an employee harrassing people utilizing the park. Also I doubt you are the only one he's done it to, so perhaps if others have complained something will be done. You shouldn't be afraid to go to the park. And when you complain mention that you love the park; it's so peaceful ect. ect. That way they know you are just a complainer, but have a real issue. Also if this guy does do something in the future, if there is a past complaint then they can show a history of a problem. Good luck! |
What a jerk! :thumbdown I would definitely report him. |
That's horrible! I would report him!! He could have harmed you or one of your babies! good luck! |
IMO you should report him!!!:thumbdown  |
That sounds horrible.I completely understand your position.Sounds like he has deliberately put you and your little pups at risk.I hope he gets reported and then at the very least he would get a warning. Were there any witnesses around? It would be great if someone else reported him as well.If the public pays the city taxes for safe parks. They should be safe.A letter to the newspaper can hold a lot of weight. It would make the parks board more accountable and they would be forced to look into the complaint more seriously.Good luck.Might be an idea to take a friend along with you on your walks for a little while. :goodluck: :) :) :) |
He may keep harrassing you if you DON'T report him! He's a jerk that definately doesn't need to be working there. I'm sure since he did it to you, he's done it to others, so don't be afraid to report him! |

I totally agree that you need to report that jerk. |
Thank you for your responses. I see everyone thinks I should report this guy and so do I, even though I will probably be afraid to go back to the park to walk the dogs. I think this guy is dangerous. So I called the Parks Dept and made the report. They are going to try to figure out who he is based on the time and the location where we were in the park. I am waiting for someone to call me back. I'm just afraid that he will continue to do this to people if someone doesn't report him. |
You have GOT to report him! What if the next woman that he decides to expose his hate to ends up hurt?! What if the next time there is a mother and her children and the children are innocently running around?!! Ugh....what an absolute JERK!!!!!!! Tammy |
good job on reporting him. Who knows maybe someone had an incedent with him before and now that you called and filed another complaint maybe he will loose his job!. Thumpsup to you girl, you did the right thing |
You absolutely did the right thing. There is no excuse for that person's behavior and that sort of aggression often escalates. I sincerely doubt this is the first problem they have had with this individual. |
Wow! that is unbelievable that someone could be that sadistic to anyone. I'm so glad you reported him:mad: You did the right thing:thumbup: |
Report him!! There was no excuse for what he did too you, he made it obvious he was doing that on purpose. I hope they give him time off without pay for his actions. Im glad you took appropriate action. |
hopefully he gets fired... what a loser, who does that seriously.. he needs a life.. glad u and ur dogs are okay, i would be scared! maybe walk with someone else next time if you encounter this loser again so you will feel more safe.. |
Glad you called and reported him. Sounds like a creepy person and rather frightening to taunt you. Maybe you should hang garlic around the pup's neck for your next walk in the park? |
Report him definately, he sounds like he has some mental or anti-social problems that should be passed on to the Parks Department. |
you did the right thing reporting him, he probably gets his jollies from scaring people on the lawn mower...but thats wrong and scares dogs to death....Good job, and don't worry about going to the park again...:) |
I'm so glad you reported him. Now when you find our his name press charges against him. That was an assault! He was using that mower as a weapon and could have killed your dogs and seriously hurt you if you had not been so quick to move. Please let us know what happens. I pray things work out and your park will once again be safe for the little ones and you. |
