hmm... How much? Loki is my new little baby... I have wanted a Yorkie ever since i was little girl and we finally got us our spunky little Loki. His breeder told us he'd be about 5lbs which is fine by me... but im thinkin' he's going to be between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2... (also fine by me heh)... What do ya think? his mom was 4 1/2 and daddy was 5 1/2... Loki recently weighed in at 2lbs and 9oz at 9wks... Jessie:animal-pa |
Only time will tell. Some start out bigger and slow down or you could have a runt that ends up being ten pounds. Some stop growing around six to eight months. Then, there are some like Gus that stop growing at a year but continue to fill out for another six months. As for the parents, you have to know more than just their size. Mom and dad could come from lines that are all around that size or they could come from larger yorkies and yours could end up just like his grandfather or great grandfather. Just like with children. I think you are right. Considering his weight at nine weeks I think he will be bigger than what the breeder told you but you never know. Congratulations on finally getting your yorkie!! Loki is adorable!!! |
there is a chart in the http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045 thread. its suppsed to work. you find the age of the dog and the weight at it tells you how much the dog will weigh. you could try that. |
ppl say that by 8 wks you are suppose to times it 3 times to see the weight but i seen that to be wrong. its just an estimate of how much they should be give or take that amount. |
