how do you choose? when you see the litter? did u pick the most energetic? the quietest? the cutest? the biggest? the smallest? i just dont know how i will manage seeing all thoes beautiful pups, and choose one above the rest! how did you do it! did any of you come away with two? lol |
actually, my cousin and my aunt picked lexi.. like you, i couldnt pick.. but i must say, lexi was really the newest yorkie there,, she had just arrived 2 days before i snatched her up... |
I just know when I see them. They are all so cute you want to take them all. |
I choose the one that best fits me...the one that i feel was meant to go with me...i dunno..its kinda hard to explain...its just something you feel inside.. |

I agree, you'll just know. When you look into those precious little eyes, you just melt. One of the best feelings I know.:) |
Since adulthood, I have bought and picked out two puppies.... a toy poodle and a yorkie. Each time they picked me! With my poodle, I went to the breeder's house intending to get a girl and this little boy just stole my heart. This time (with Tatum), I did only want to choose from the girls and I had to pick from three of them. It was a no-brainer once she crawled on my lap! |
When we picked Harley, it was because we personally thought that he was the cutest and same with our dog, Bailey. :) Everyone just has their own opinions and so will you once you see the puppies. Tammy |
It's simple...you sit on the floor and let one choose you...you'll know when it happens! There is nothing more loving then when a puppy lays it's little head on your shoulder and sighs as if to say...'finally...this is the one!' Good luck! |
Pick the one that is the best fit for your home and life style. There's always one that touches your heart when they look into your eyes. |
I think once you go, you'll know. With my two, I picked the smallest from each litter. :) |
Summerlin really picked me - she crawled up in my arms and snuggled up into my neck - that was it. I couldn't have said no if I tried :) |
all my animals picked me :) *Xander put his paw on my foot through the gate and then attacked my husband with kisses and walked over and sat in my lap. I actually wanted his sister. *Addie rolled over in front of me and then fell asleep on my foot *Willow ran inside my shirt (lol) *and Rogue fell asleep on my husband and then meowed at him when she put him down (I had wanted her sister) I think the one that is right for you will either have a totally desirable temperament or will be the one you just bond with |
Well, Hobbs and Lamar were the only ones left in their litters so we didn't have choices there, but we got pick of the litter with Hootie's litter. My hubby picked her out. I don't know why he chose her, but he did! She and her other 2 littermates looked identical to me! |
I chose the smallest male of the litter. Then when I got Jewels I wanted a girl and she was the only girl. She was also tiny and the cutest pup I had ever seen. |

Yep.... my little Mango and her Mommy definitely chose me. The first time I went to the breeder's house, I saw these little babies on the other side of a child gate. I could not help myself and just stepped over it and sat down on the floor. The breeder called out because he thought the Mom would "attack" me to protect her babies from a stranger. Instead, the second my butt hit the floor, the Mommy climbed straight onto my lap and her little female puppy (my Mango) just hopped on with her, trying to run up my chest to kiss my face. I sat quite still, with the Mommy curled up and her baby trying to bounce up and kiss me. I was completely smitten.... could have taken them both home.Mango definitely recognized her "human" Mommy-to-be because her Yorkie Mommy chose her.......:littleang |
Yep - I think they choose you - I know ours did, and she was right! She is perfect for our family!:) |
it's a personal think in terms of personally....what do you like? I personally like non alphas so I flip them on their belly. I also not ones not too shy, scared, sweet etc. |
:aimeeyork I always tell the breeder what personality will fit my home, and since the breeder knows the pups best, she chooses for me. So far it has worked every time! |
2 Attachment(s) LOL we went there looking for a girl. there were 11 yerk pups from 3 litters and they were soooo cute they all ran over to us jumping up our legs saying pick me pick me. the breeder allowed me to video them i have the sweetest video of all thees yorkies running all over the place. At the end of our visit all the yorkies except one went in there bed. Just one stayed at my husbands feet. |
Can you guess what one we took home? |
Pick one that's outgoing, playful without cowering or nervous or runs and hids over a noise. Don't pick a bully either. ;) |
i hate to say it but looks are a HUGE part of y i pick a puppy, but if i dont like the puppies personality, looks arent my 1st priority. I love the outgoing puppy that is friendly & curious. Size isnt really a factor, as long as the pup is Excessively BIG or TINY TINY TINY, then its not a problem. |
I chose my babies, HONESTLY - #1 because of looks and #2 because of personality :) I did not choose them for size and never would. There was a puppy (female) that was a little smaller than Stedman when we were picking him out, but that was of no importance to me AT ALL. IMO she wasn't nearly as cute as he was and had NOTHING on his personality ;) I LOVE his little attitude and of course his looks won me over straight away :p Same goes for Tatum ;) |

Amen to that! I always choose the pup that "touches my heart". |
Well I never got to meet any of mine so I didn't know their personalities...they were both shipped to me but I really hit the jackpot. Teddy has the BEST personality ever. He's the most friendliest, energetic, funniest boy I've seen and London is a total sweet heart just like me :) |
i had picked out different puppies but for some reason they see to pick me instead of me picking them so it was fate chose us to be together !! ;) |
