Can you believe this :thumbdown A so-called "well to do" couple in my hometown bought 2 yorkies Christmas, one for each of their teenaged children. These "children" are never home, so the father said the yorkies had to go. He tried to sell them for what he paid for them, with no luck. (They are registered and are beautiful - his price was exorbitant) A couple of days ago, he was ready to send them to the pound:mad:  A woman who has several small dogs, including yorkies said she would take them and find homes for them (which she's done, including selling them for the man at half what he was asking) She's keeping the babies until the new owners pick them up. I found out today that the 2 little yorkies shy away from human touch and act like they've been hit or yelled at or both. They act like they've been caged all the time!!! I'm so furious with this couple who think that yorkies are "just dogs" and think they could survive at the pound (which only holds them so many days before euthanizing) I know they would've been adopted, but the idea that this "fine, upstanding member of the community" could react this way to YORKIES is just beyond me. |
People are just plain strange. Teenagers are not responsible enough to take care of a puppy. Their just to busy being teenagers. |

That is a very sad story. When I bring Haruka to work, many people want to get yorkies.. Then I usually have a couple minutes conversation with them about how responsible we have to be.... and all that stuff we always think about on YT. |
im 19 and i take great care of my baby |

i think you just have to be an animal lover... no animal lover would do anything to hurt or harm or neglect... no matter what age.. some people are just friggin idiots and need to get a beating |
soo sad...some people just dont' understand.... |
some people just dont have the same 'connection' with animals as we all do. its a wonderful thing, to be able to feel that way about an animal, fortunatley i have been able to extend my connection futher to thoes ugly animals we call meat... people honestly dont see the animals as having a brain, emotions, wants and needs, they see them as there for their pleasure, which should go and hide somewhere when its not wanted.... i dnt think we can change the way people thing, but just try to educate them of the responsabilites before they get a pet. any parent getting a pet for a child, and expecting them to do everything is nieve. there children, teenagers and they get bored easily! p.s not bashing teenagers i am one! lol 19 and i too moved out at 16, grew up first and love being indipendant! |
Why have yorkie's or any small animal if you cant spoil them, love them and care for them. I hate when people treat animals so badly, it breaks my heart. I'm glad someone took them and rehommed them so they didnt have to be subjected to the pound. |
Very sad. We sometimes get pets for my children. My daughter has fish, and my son has 3 tree frogs and a snake. When these were bought; I took them under the full expectation and acceptance that these pets are part of our household. I would never give a child a pet that I wasn't willing to take care of myself. (Which is one reason why Jacob hasn't gotten most of the pets he's wanted.) Now these pets are small and in terramiums or aquariums; I wouldn't even consider getting them something like a dog or cat without considering them mine also. :( |
which is EXACTLY why I never sell my babies to people who are buying them for someone else. NEVE NEVER NEVER |
