Take last night as an example ... it was a BEAUTIFUL 72 degrees but breezy. I thought Cali would be ok NAKED as a jay bird :p but I didn't get her more than 3 feet before she started shaking! So I ran back upstairs and got her a little dress. Once I put it on her, she immediately stopped shaking. |

I have bought my Boy a few things...but as a rule I don't dress him up. He hates it when I put things on him anyway. ;) |
I think the little ones look so adorable when they are in their duds. Buddy dosen't like anything on him. That's a good thing because he is so big he would look really dumb!:( He has coats, sweaters, hoodies for cold weather which he hates to wear and I even bought him boots for snow and ice. I really prefer my dog nude:) |

My Yorkies are REAL dogs.... really and truly..... they are pampered, and petted and spoiled rotten. They are allowed to go outside and play (always under supervision) they go down to the barn, roll in and eat a variety of poop (horse is the favorite with kitty coming in a close second). They eat untold numbers of bugs and blades of grass. They run around the barn looking for mice and barn cats to chase. When we go someplace special -- I do gussy them up -- not always clothes, but a bandana and a nice hair bow works. |
First off my Yorkie is a little on the bigger side (11lbs) and he does not like to wear anything. I do have a soccer jersey that I make him wear now and again, and he just sits there like a goof, so I take it off. The most I might do is put a bow in their hair. I have guys...My biggest purchase is they earn a Harley Davidson Collar when they get bigger!!! So, my guys are just regular dogs, spoiled, loved, adored, but not dressed up. |
Do you see a problem with folks who "dress" their Yorkies?? I think it's adorable and not a darn thing wrong with it. If you want to find some wrong things and try and correct the problem, then look under puppy mills and find out all the ways you can help shut them down. Those dogs are in wire cages with crappy water and eating old bread free from bakery's and never seen a Vet. or kindness.............THAT is what's not right!! |
With both dogs in full coat...........clothes are not an option!! BUT I do bows!!!! LOVE BOWS!!!! Plus living in Florida.........too hot for clothes!! |
I was one of the ones who laughed at those who dressed up their dogs - that was before I got Abigail. Now I understand!! LOL I do enjoy her natural coat, so I don't keep something on her every day. I'm trying to grow out her coat. I want her in full coat. But, since she does have to have a harness to go out - and there are so MANY too cute harness dresses available now - I figure why not be cute and practical?! She owns several very cute harness dresses and a winter jacket. I love dresssing her up to go out, and though some folks snicker at us, many more seem to enjoy her than those who don't. |
I only dress Skippy up if we're going somewhere special even though he has a drawer full of shirts.;) |
No Clothes Fan I don't ever dressup my yorkie X as I think that's taking the "mickey' out of him. He is a dog, looks like a dog, acts like one, so I let him just be one! I do agree however with a plain dog coat for animals that need the extra warmth if they are sick or frail. Let wind blow between their fur like it was meant to be.:animal36 |
