New Puppy I have a new Yorkie puppy and she is not quite four months old. Her coat is turning grey especially on the top of her head....is this normal? |
most yorkies tend to turn "blue" and gold so it's normal. Winnie turned grey on the top of her head, but her body has stayed black so far (she's a year old). Don't worry about it, it's cute :) |
yes, it is very normail. it is what is called 'breaking color" or breaking silver". This is the beginnings of adult hair and usually the white or silver turns a pretty shade of tan , gold or silver over time. |
My pup is about that age has the silver roots coming in on her head. Yes this is normal. I have a 2 year old that is mainly silver with a tan head, and 1 year old who is mainly black with silver on the belly, and brown, tan, black, and a touch of silver on her head. ( i love her coloring!!!) But the puppy is going to turn silver with the tan head, I think. It's hard to tell. People that don't know anything about yorkies, will make comments to me like this: " He looks old, how much longer you think he will be alive?" They have no idea he's only 2 and that is a primary color that they change to. |
My Bijou started with the grey hairs about a month ago. I freaked out and posted. Everyone assured me this was completely normal. |
That is very normal |
Annie is 17 weeks old and her head is almost pure gray now.. she looks worse than I do :D I hope it turns to tan or gold...I can't figure out what color she is going to be. Kasey & Annie |
