It's Official - I finally registered Calliope today. Her registered name is Dee's Lil' Diminutive Diva!!!

What did everyone else use as their registered names?

Layla is Miss CanAm (the breeder said we were welcome to use her in the title.. but Layla is a pet... so we didn't need it for show or anything) and it is CanAm because she is born in America but she lives in Canada :)

I am so dumb. :rolleyes: Chloe is my first dog, and I had no idea that registered names were like this. So her name is simply Chloe Abigail IV. What a nincompoop...what a maroon!:p

There are a few threads like this that I've posted on...but I'll put them here too ;)

Emma=Suzy's Emerald Princess
Milli=Suzy's Million Dollar Sapphire

My birthstone is an emerald, and my mother's was/my husband's is a sapphire. Both stones are in my wedding band, so that's where I got their names from.

Emma wears everything pink (clothes, barrettes, harness, leash, etc.), since she's a princess. Milli wears everything in blue, since she's my sapphire.

Lottie's registered name is Charlotte York. i named her after charlotte from sex and the city because that is my favorite show and i think that charlotte is such a sweet character. i also liked the york being that lottie is a yorkie :p

i decided that if i wanted a shorter name it would have to be a play on the later part of charlotte (lottie) because i have a cousin named charlene.

LOL! You are not!! Silly :p Not everyone registers their dog with a name like that! They are very cute but don't worry.....you can do it however you like. Mine are just "pets" (and I don't mean JUST ;) ) and we named Vixxen like this on her papers: Vixxen "Bits O' Love" Swartz!! Haven't sent in Truffles yet but I think she will be along the lines of "Trina's Raspberry Truffles" or we might do it like Vixxen with her nickname in the middle: Truffles "Truffle Maker" Swartz" :D :D

Do I have to have a weird name like that? Ive always gave my dogs normal names Oliver Fredrick and Annastasia Rose those wont work?

no you do not have to have a name like that. usually it is breeders or people that want their kennel name to be on the dogs they sell. Or show people. or people that just want the dogs name to be catchy and different.

Sorry i didnt mean it like that. i mean more like people names i guess. i dont know I think my pets are alot like my kids and so i give them names id give my kids and thats what i meant sorry.

Buddy is not registered AKC.

He is registered EKCH as "Cerdi Odon", he was born in Budepest, Hungary.

With Destiny I wanted her mom's name in it to remember her by so
she is registered as Lady Destiny Leanne of Malady Regina.

It's okay! Sometimes when you register your dog with the American Kennel Club or a similar organization they have the big fancy names but then they have an every day name or a "call name", too. So my Yorkie is Dee's Lil' Diminutive Diva. Dee's Lil' refers to the kennel or breeder that she came from then the Diminutive Diva is her "kennel name" but her "call name" is Calliope Belle. :) Does that make more sense?

I didn't register my Cairn terrier so he doesn't have a registered name...he's just good ole Braxton Poupon McPlop! :p lol

OK, so did Dee register that name, and you go with that? I remember when I was calling breeders before I got Chloe, one breeder told me that she registers them, so they have her name, and then the new owner does the transfer of ownership. A little different than how I did it I guess.

Just wondering, since I don't know too much about the naming thing. :p

Maggies registered name is: Bama Princess Magnolia. thats where the maggie came from.
started to call her prissy but my neice's yorkie is prissy and she got hers first.
she is a princess to us. just a pet, but still our princess.

if you buy a pup from a registered AKC kennel, you have to use the kennel name unless you have permission from the breeder to do otherwidse. the kennel name I use is not registered since i don't show so i told the buyers that they could name them anything they want to but would appreciate it if they use my kennel name. now, this last litter, i did what is called a full litter registration. meaning that i named each dog in the litter and registered the litter and individual dogs at the same time. the buyer will get the AKC certificate and all they do is send in the owner transfer. The name cannot be changed. This gets my kennel name out there should the dog be shown. but, you can give them any call name you wish.

Thanks for the 'splaining. :) That must be what that one breeder I spoke to was talking about.
