ooooooo hes started doing a yorkie, not mine but out of a book:D gonna bath my lot first lol |
He did a good job. I don't have any portraits of mine, but I did a beaded portrait of my Mom's Yorkie for her birthday a few years ago. |
Portrait :) I am getting ready to do an oil of Uma now that the weather is nice enough to sit on the deck. I can not imagine trying to hold her and paint at the same time!! |
4 Attachment(s) :) Forgot to put some of my work!!! |
3 Attachment(s) He has the basics of a good painter:D ....tell him to put far more detail into it, and it'll be fantastic. He will look back after a few more and not like it as much, as he'll get far better with each one;) I use a tiny brush and put in all the hairs of an animal, etc, and it makes a huge difference to the finished article - also another tip is where you put paint on, take it off again, in lighter areas, with a wet clean brush for fantastic highlights. I do mostly watercolours - I have done my first Yorkie 7 years ago now(I have three Yorkies now) and she is on the wall in front of me, but I haven't a pic of the painting. Must get round to taking pics of the others - though most have been grabbed by others ! Here are some others I have done....I am on painting 54 at the moment. My last one won a competition in England, so I was chuffed, and got a lovely plaque and certificate....that was the first try at a competition and was very exciting. It was of one of my hubby's Tarantulas !!! :animal-pa Debra I can do even better ones now....these are my early ones, and I've gone off them, lol I also find that photos don't show all the detail of seeing the real thing....the ones below are about 100% more detailed than a photo shows. The ones on the wall are in my sister's house. |
:artist: beautiful!! |

he sells his paintings on ebay and has sold them all over the world, he does landscapes and things like that normaly so this is the first dog hes done and it only took about an hour:eek: hes painted since he was little but gave it up for a few years and only started again about 6 months ago, ive told him he should start doing paintings of peoples dogs as thats more personal than just a pic of the same breed.:) |

he just did a quick one of a blonde yorkie he found in one of my yorkie books:) he gonna do mine next:D |
1 Attachment(s) here it is:D |
Thanks for the complements.....your hubby could easily sell his, though if he is like me, it becomes a pain doing any for other people as you get inundataed and everyone wants them for nothing. They don't realise the time and patience they take ! Also everytime you do one for yourself, someone goes off with it, and everyone elses' wall is full of your paintings, and you have none ! You have to learn to be firm, and not be so generous to everyone, lol I think everyone I know has two or three paintings of mine, and I have refused the last wee while, and have finally done Eilean Donan Castle in the west of Scotland for my own wall ! :animal-pa |
