oh my goodness !! are u serious ?? |
Thanks a lot for posting this. I was proud of myself when I found Royal Canin for my babies about 1 to 1 1/2 years ago. Now I'm flipping out over all this. What is a Yorkie owner to think? Matthias |
I have been thinking about this all night :( I dont know what to do anymore...I looked at Wellness and Canidae...This is all terrible...These poor little guys!!! My two are both on Royal Canin (Sophia is on the Shih Tzu and Jake on the puppy) I was thinking about Natural Balance dry food...Anyone use that??? |

yeah, i'm pretty upset about this too. wow...i love royal canin. i wonder which lines of it they are referring to... maggie is on the puppy 33 formula. we use a different brand for our adult dogs, called natures select. it is supposedly all natural and all that...but who knows. maybe i should just start cooking for my babies. this is crazy!!!! |
The sad thing is, we as pet owners only want what is best for our furbabies. We love them! We have trusted dog food companies to make foods that are safe and also provide nutritional value to our loved ones. Look back over the past year how many dog foods have been recalled. It's horrible! |
I read the article and so far it said no allegations have been tested yet. One can only hope that this is proven to be a false allegation for our furkids sake. Im going to be keeping an eye on this since all 3 of mine are on Royal Canin. |

We use the Potatoe and Duck formula.. Hope this helps..:) I |
My guess is it is a big to do over nothing. If it were that bad more dogs would be dying from it. I'm guessing the woman is grief stricken because her dog died and she wanted to blame someone for it. Maybe she was giving vitamins along with it. There are a lot of factors to consider. The fact that this did not come up years ago, tells me that the accusations are probably unmerited. I feed Royal Canine. |
All, The Royal Canin thing does NOT affect any US retail products. This was limited to special diet (vet type) foods from Royal Canin Canada. The products were pulled over a year ago, and they have since switched to a new supplier with very stringent overseeing procedures. Here's the link to Royal Canin Canada's site with the explanation: http://www.royalcanin.ca/recall_statement_en.php |

This is enough to me nuts.......Is this claim only in Canada? Is the bad food only up there?? What in the heck is going on......I wont even go into the trouble my baby has had the past few months and he has just turned 8 months old....Royal K is what I have heard to give Yorkies and Ty seems to enjoy it, but now this.......From what I am reading it sounds like no need to worry since its only in Canada, but do I keep feeding it to him until that bad food gets shipped to the US??? What other food are good for Yorkies?? Tyson is till on puppy food.....I do know one thing. I am not going to beat myself up anymore over giving him a little taste of my food anymore....at least I know we'll get sick together.......I feel like such a bad mom, I know I didnt know.......but...same with the other fod that was just recalled, I thought I was doing a nice thing after he was neutered and gived him some soft food so I went out and bought him all the Nutr-Choice soft food he wanted......long story short for anyone who got to read me spazzing out at midnight one night, becasue my dog was have seizures out of the blue at 5 months old and I had to run him to a nasty ER hospital who was so nice to let me know Tys kidney function were all over the place and out of wack....needless to say 3 months later, I KNOW NOW.....so I am just a bit leary to continue with the Royal K.......any help is great... |
