I am so sad!!! I took Bentley for a trim today and they chop all of his hair off, he looks like a rat, I been crying since I see him....the only thing they said was I'm sorry it was a mistake....I wish I can do something....I know is only hair and it will grow back, but that's not the point, the point is how come you ask and pay for something and they do whatever they want....I feel mad, sad, angry:mad: |
I can feel your frustration. I think we have all been there before! I was letting Buddy's coat grow in for the first time and last Oct I took him for just a TRIM to encourage better growth. When I picked him up his face was cut to the jaw line! I almost cried. It has been 5 mos and it is just getting back to where it was when I took him last Oct. I will never go back there again. Actually I don't know where to go anymore. Never happy with the results. |
Oh, I'm so sorry:( Fortunately, his coat will grow back. Until then, be sure to brush and comb him out really well so he doesn't get matted. A lot of times groomers have to cut them that short because they're matted - and sometimes they just don't listen to instructions:( Maybe you can start grooming him yourself so you can get it exactly the way you want:) |
His hair was beautiful no mats, I brush his hair every single day, was long, nice and shiny, I just took him for a TRIM, beacuse I was affraid to do it...I stilll cryin when I see him and he looks sad and down, I don't know why.... |
He's just picking up on your vibes, poor thing. Put a smile on your face and tell him how beautiful he is and go do something fun together! He'll forget all about it before you do:) I'm not making light of your situation, I know how upsetting it is to see your baby's coat butchered:( Do you have any cute outfits he could wear while his coat grows out? |
So sorry the groomer did this to your baby :( |
Oh my God my boy friend just got home and he is so upset.... |
Awww it's ok sweetie - I know how you feel. I had the same horrible experience the frist (and only) time Stedman went to the groomer. I groom him myself now, I will not risk it again :thumbdown In fact, I just got done grooming is legs, feet, and back :) I'm bet your baby feels so much better and his coat really will come back looking gorgeous I am sure! ;) |
I think they gave something to Bentley he is been so down, sleepy, sad, not eating, I'm so worry about my poor baby.... |
His coat will grow back, don't worry, but I do understand the frustration. Next time when you go to the groomers do tell them what happen before and if this will happen again you will sue them...LOL But i am sure he looks lovely now as well, he's the same dog. |

Since he went to the groomers yesterday, he should be fine today.... By the way since the groomer made a mistake, there should have been no charge..... |
I was going to say the same thing. They should not have charged you for their mistake! Had they done that to one of my babies.........well, some of you know me already!! |
thats the main reason I have never took maggie to a groomer. I'm scared of what she might look like when she comes back to me. so sorry for your hurt. But I would demand my money back. |
That's what my boyfriend says that we are going tomorrow and get the money back, he is really upset....I'm more worry about Bentley than upset...and he said is my fault that I should stay there with him and see everything, but the don't have that option, and I don't want to feel bad or guilty |
What part of Florida are you in? I have been looking for a groomer down here also. I took Percy in for a groom and left in tears!! They didn't do what I asked them to do at all! They cut all the hair off the top! It was like they did a puppy cut on the top, and left the rest of his face long. I told them I was growing it and just wanted a trim. When I mentioned it, she told me the hair grows fast up top and it was better this way. Now, everything is a different length on his face. He is going to need a trim again soon, and I sooooo scared to take him in. I wish i knew the different terms for the cuts. |
I do People hair and if A person is not happy when a servious is done Our shop will never charge them. And if they come back and want a refund they get it. Not that it happens alot but when it does we do our best to make the client happy. Go in and ask for a refund It is worth it. and that way they will really know how unhappy you were. |
don't worry about it !! it will grow out reallie soon !! ;) |

i'm sowie to hear that !! :( |
Well you all can consider yourselves lucky. My mom took her maltese to get groomed and poor Snowy came home with razor burns all over his skin. It was so sad! Our dogs trust us and we took them somwhere where the people were rough with them and gave him razor burns. Poor Snowy!!! Its probably scary as it is being left with strangers and then somthing like this happens. But I do know your frusteration. Work so hard to grow their hair out beautiful and somone messes it all up. GO GET YOUR MONEY BACK! Christen |
bye bye top knot zipper is 5 months and we've been so happy to be able to get his hair out of his eyes and into a top knot. I've been reluctant to take him to the groomer, but i knew his ears needed to be trimmed and the hair need to be plucked out from inside the ear. I took him to a recommended groomer over an hour away, left specific instructions, and picked up a beautiful little boy...who was missing his top knot. She said she usually trims little boys faces and leaves little girls. All well and good, but I ask for ONLY the ears and feet to be trimmed. I know it will grow, but I just hate to go through that stage where the hair is irritating his eyes all the time. |
I am so sorry.. I can relate to that.. hence I haven't taken Gizmo to get a cut and he needs one.. I just need to learn myself... avoids things like this... I too have had a bad experience with grooming... but it will grow out and its ok.... Im sure he doesn't care.... I'm sorry and I hope it grows really fast... |
This happens all over the WORLD!! Same thing happened to Coffee, I took him for a puppy cut, lots of instructions, he came back shaven!! Thank goodness they had left his topnot. He is now starting to look better:) Sheilagh |
I started trimming Haruka's hair myself... so I can blame.. myself :) Sometimes I don't like how I cut her, but get to like it pretty quickly. I think for me it is ridiculous to take Haruka to a groomer and I don't notice any difference before and after... or hate the look.. so I decided to shave the $50 for something else. I could buy some nice dress for her instead. It is hard to find a good groomer .. but who knows.. you might start to like the looks too :) |

I bough clippers years ago and trim all my dogs now and even do dogs for the neighbors. It really is easy to learn and you never have to worry about someone not doing it right. There are instruction videos you can buy and watch to learn . It is so worth it!!:p |
I am so sorry. I just had a bad grooming experience myself last month! I had been trying to do the grooming myself, but struggled with a few things - evening up their long coats, the sanitary trim - what a mess it turned into - cut the face & not the hind ends for the sanitary trim. Which I didn't realize that part until I got home. Made me sick I paid for it! And I didn't go back & tell her how unhappy I was - shame on me! Go back - get your money - glad you're bf will go with you!! I'm done with groomers |
I think my groomers does an amazing job with my boys. They always are cut sooooo perfectly, Ive never complained about how they look. However they used clippers around their 'privates' and one of them got an infection, I had to take him to vet and fight with him for 10 days to give him antibiotics... so I told my groomer no more clippers. When I went to pick them up this last time, again they looked soooooo GREAT but she used the clippers around their anus and sure enough one of them kept going for it and licking his raw (I know this is probably TMI) so I know they are still using the clippers, not on their privates anymore, but now I have to specify that they do not use the clippers AT ALL... anywhere on them, they are both too sensative for them apparently. |
Teddy hates his face touched I don't think I could take the chance of grooming my own dogs. They are both such wigglers, I am afraid I would cut them. I really wish I could, it would only take me a couple of minutes, as they don't need that much, but they see me coming with the scissors and they freak. Teddy especially, refuses to have his face touched, where he needs it the most. So, I gave up. I have a mobile groomer, and I know he is very gentle with both of them, I am very satisfied with him that way, although their coats shine, and they smell so good, he leaves too much hair. I have told him what I would like, but to deaf ears. So, I am just the opposite to some of you, and the way your groomers have done your little ones. Janice |
