She Did It!!!! Hi all, you are now reading the thread of someone who got 8[SIZE=4] HOURS of sleep. Coco let me sleep last night. I don't know what it was that had her not whimper all night but I hope it's permanent. I'm so excited I've been giggling all morning long. She was so good and so quiet. I didn't do anything different. I was kissing her all over this morning when I woke up. Oh another interesting thing that happened at casa no longer sleepy, you guys remember how I said Coco whimpers and cries everytime I shower? Well today was no different on that topic. I left the curtain open, and she was whimpering so I decided to take her in there with me so she would calm down. I wanted her to see what was in there. She was obviously curious. I took her in there and at first she was wincing at all the water droplets, then she got really sad looking, shrinking by the second. I picked her up and by this point she was like, "crap why did I whimper". So I bathed her while she was in there, but clearly she didn't like it in there. I toweled her up and put her down so I can finish but she STILL hadn't learned her lesson. She got right out of the towl and whimpered again. So that didn't go as well as I had hoped but who cares, I slept 8 whole hours. Besides last night she let me groom her with electric puppy groomer. She was so good, and I took quite a bit off as she was turning into a ball of fur. She looks much better today. |
Congrats on your 8 hour sleep! |
Its amazing how they're so much like babies...for the first few months you have em, there is no such thing as shut eye. :) |
giggly I was so happy this morning, I was kissing her all over and stuffing her with cookies...haha..I know I'm starting a bad habit but I was so grateful. |
its true i dont sleep either In the morning when im getting ready for work in the bathroom pixie cries the whole time and it pisses me off I can't just leave her downstair alone and she goes nuts if i put her in the cage .she will wake everyone else up. i havent gotten a whole straight 8 hours yet i get to work with bags under my eyes. But its because she gets up in the middle of the night and starts walking on the bed. she is 18 weeks |
Mine does the same thing. When I'm getting ready, she whimpers and when I holder her she is ok. But it's hard to hold her and put make up on as you can imagine. But I think the little cutie knows that I'm leaving for the day. Even at night when I'm getting ready to go out, and take her with me, she thinks I'm leaving her. So anytime I look like Im getting ready, she whimpers. :( |
Let's face it...yorkies are whimperers! But it's a cute whimper...how could you not love it!!! My little ones have always slept in the bed with me and my hubby, and they have NEVER kept us awake! Except when they bark at the coyotes..lol... :p |
My baby, Zack is 12 weeks old. I got him when he was 8 weeks. (see picture below of him at 8 weeks) He has always slept in the bed with me. He used to sleep near my head or across my neck. Now he sleeps at the end of the bed. He usually lets me sleep 6 hours. I really need about 7/8 hours of sleep, so I'm been in sleep deprivation for a month now. He has trouble calming down at night since he's a high spirited puppy (meaning hyper) but he knows the rules, when the lights go out, it's time for sleep. I usually don't have too much trouble with him but sometimes he likes to race around under the sheets like a tiny racecar! (he's almost 4 lbs) He only whimpers when I'm in the bed and he's on the floor. When I'm in the shower, he runs around inside the house getting into trouble. (I take short showers now) Every morning, he wakes me up by licking my face and neck. I get up immediately and take him outside. This morning, he woke me up at 4 am, I was so groggy that I didn't get up fast enough and he peed on my body pillow next to me. (the pee dripped off the body pillow on to me!) Nobody told me a Yorkie could be so much work! But he is so worth it! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...rl/ZackNew.jpg |
That is so funny! I'm too afraid to sleep in bed with her because I'm afraid to crush her little 1lbs. body. I am a mover in bed and I sleep really deeply so I'm afraid I would hurt her and not know. Another reason I don't want her in my bed to sleep is because I paid perfectly good money for a lovely comfy bed for her and she needs to get used to it. I like my bed to myself, to where I don't have to worry about smothering or squashing her. When she wakes up in the mornings I put her up there with me and we take a catnap together for 20 minutes or so, but that's it. She's a lot of work but definetely worth it. On a usual night she whimpers 80% of the time, so I would never know if it's to go potty or just because she wants to be with me. I just put her on the puppy pad once we both wake up. |
