Dusty just eat chocolot I went in the living room and my little girl had droped a bag of candy in the floor. Dusty wasnt in there but he just threw up twice and it was the color of the candy. What should I do. He is acting ok but I dont know how much he eat. |
You might call your vet if you dont know how much he eat. He may have thrown up everything he ate |
Can I make him throw up more? Is there a way to make him throw up to make sure he is ok |
Here is a link about inducing vomiting http://dogs.about.com/cs/disableddog...mit_induce.htm |
he is doing it by himself. He is still throwing up. Other than that he seems to be fine he is still runnning around and playing. I think he has got it all up now. I will watch him real close through the night to make sure there are no other problems. |
eating chocolate is serious. you should take him to the vet just to be sure. |
HE is ok That scared me to death. I kept him right next to me through the night. I checked to see all the symtoms. He threw up four times but nothing else. He is fine this morning. I dont think he eat very much. I will watch him close through today. I had plans today but canceled so I could stay close to him.I try to be so careful not to let this kind of thing happen but yesterday I was cleaning out my fridge and my little girl got the candy without me knowing. I have always told her how sick it could make Dusty but yestersay she saw for herself and she seen how scared I was so I think she really understands now. |

I didn't mean to say that you should drill your poor daughter more..... that was just something that my kids would always seem to "forget". And yes, they were young and had to be reminded often. I wasn't criticizing. And yes, I think I remember reading that baker's chocolate is one of the worst. And dark chocolate. |
I didnt take it like that. Quote:

I do understand. Mine have just about gotten sick with worry when one of our dogs would find something of theirs by accident. I think I drilled it into them SO much harder than I intended but then when it actually does happen, it's been such a tiny bit that it really wasn't dangerous. But it did put the fear into them. I'm sure your daughter will get over the drama of it all and learn a little lesson in the meantime. A little healthy fear is a good thing sometimes to teach a lesson. |
