We have a male and recently got a female...We got him when he was 3 months old and he was 100% trained within a month. He is very smart, and he is sweet as can be :) Also, he was neutered when he was 1yr old...He never marks inside the house. He pees on puppy pads and squats to pee. When we take him outside, he pees (marks) in several places and lifts his leg sometimes. If you neuter them at around 6 months, you should have no problems at all. Good luck in your decision! |
Marking.. I may have the exception rather than the rule. Teddy started marking at 3 months old. His privates also began to descend early as well. He did everything early it seems.. I'm getting him neutured right now actually. His marking really doesn't bother me or anyone in my family.. and Most of the time when he marks its just a drop(if that of pee) that might hit a wall or something. I don't really see it as an issue in my household, but I'm also warning you might have a baby that matures early.. like my Teddy! Ashley |
Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like if you own a male, he just must be neutered before it starts! I'll keep that in mind! Thanks! :) |
My oldest two boys do not mark in the house because they know better. They only mark outside. They may smell where Sam uses his pads but thats it. They have not been fixed. Sam will be fixed at 5 months, I am pretty sure. |
