How often do you brush your yorkies teeth? Also, do any of you use this? and how often do you use it?

Yes!! I just got Petzlife teeth gel and have been using it for about a week and a half. Toby's teeth already look great!! What a difference. :) Peanut's teeth are taking a bit longer to show a difference, but from what I read it can take a month to show a significant difference in some dogs. I use it in the morning and at bedtime. It is soo easy to use, but they do hide from me now when they see me with the bottle. LOL!!:D

I would think the sooner the better just to get them used to it.

yeah, my dogs HATE it :) if you read one of my previous posts, maggie about took my fingers with her. she put up one heck of a fight when i tried to use it for the first time yesterday. so every day? okie dokie...here we go then :) i'm sure this will be fun...i'm kinda scared LOL :)

ROLF!!! :lol tears Toby scares me too!!! I am afraid I will lose a finger which is why I opted for Petzlife since brushing is not required. Even without brushing his teeth look like I had them cleaned professionally.

So with the Gel , how do you give it to them? I have the gel and I just can't master the whole bruching thing...it just isn't working at all! :eek:

yeah, i went and got one of those rubber toothbrush things that you put on your finger and i am just rubbing the gel onto each side of their mouth. I just did my cocker...she is easy. I could pluck ever hair out of that dogs body and she would just lay there and let me do it (not that I EVER would). she is just so passive. NOT maggie :) she will be the last one to get it LOL but I think with just rubbing this thing along her gums instead of using the toothbrush to brush her teeth, it might be easier. I am hoping :)

i have the 8 in 1(the brand) toothbrush kit that i got from target is that okay to use? it has tooth paste, brush, and rubber brush.

i'm not sure about that particular product but i am sure brushing their teeth in some fashion is good, as long as it is done. I chose this gel because 1. you do not have to scrub their teeth, 2. it instantly helps their breath, and 3. it is all natural. i didn't want to give my baby chemicals. don't get me wrong, i have no idea what you bought so I am not judging it in any way, it is probably ok. like I said, brushing is good...even if you are only brushinbg and not using toothpaste..i imagine it is better than nothing. so give it a shot and see how it works for you and your baby.

i like to know about a lot of different products so that if i am not happy with one, i have backup :) we have the CET toothpaste for our older dog but we have decided to give this petzlife stuff a try since it freshens his breath better. altho, he prefers the paste :) this petzlife stuff really is strong smelling!

You apply it to their lips or gums and it mixes with their saliva and coats the teeth. It is suggested to brush after 8 days of use. You have to take away their food and water 30 minutes before and thirty minutes after application.

maggie did SOOOOOO good! she didn't like it AT ALL but she let me put it on her gums with that rubber finger thingy. i'm so proud of her. I got all 3 dogs done in just a couple of minutes. what a RELIEF!!!

YIPPY!!!! Now it will just become part of their dailly routine...but if they are anything like my babies, they will be no where to be found once you are holding that bottle. Hehehe!! :eek:

hmmm...not sure. i got it from the website of that link I posted here cuz i think the shipping was free. the other places i looked had it for the same price but they charged shipping.

wow! This looks like a great product. I'm willing to try just about anything...brushing is soooo difficult! It's a source of worry and guilt on my part!

We use Petzlife and the vet made a comment about her teeth being white. I use the gel like toothpaste. She loves it.

Hey Guys. I agree the petzlife products are amazing. Been very happy not to have to take my doggies into vet anymore. Also I have orderd from www.petzlifedirect.com before and they have the cheapest prices and they usally ship out same day. Last time I went they sent me a free tootbursh designed for pets..pretty cool.

I am going to post some before and after pics I have if I can fine them! lol

wow, before and after pics-of your dogs teeth? i cant even get mine to hold still for a regular picture-kudos to you.
so you guys put the gel on everyday then? -
my little one has some pretty bad breathe, but her teeth dont look too bad... i think it's her food, but it's a good quality food, so i hate to change it on the account that she has stinky breathe... does it help with stinky breathe too???
i need a doggie tic tac! :)

i hear it really helps with the breath. i have only been using it a few days but i think it has already helped with the breath.

Well I have help with the photos (my wife) and I have trained both dogs to like it.. I know that sounds impossible but its not. When we started I would put on hand on the bottom jaw and one around the top of the snout. I would say the command "open" while I pushed my thumb and index fingers on the bottom hand into the mouth. At first that was about as far as I got but I would then let go and praise them and give them treat. the female caught on quick but the male took a while longer. Since then they have started associating the Petzlife bottle with a treat and they now come right over when we get it out. Pretty amazing and yes it clears up the bad breath because it kills the bacteria that causes it.
