concerned about yorkie's thin hair on head & chewing on leash We have a 12 wk old female yorkie whom we dearly love. We brought her home from the breeder when she was 9 wks old. Upon arriving at home ,we noticed that her hair on her head was thin. It is thin enough in the middle that we can see her scalp. It's strange we never noticed this at the breeder's home. Am wondering if it will fill in as she matures. I sure hope so as she is so cute. Has anyone else experienced this? Sure would like to find information about this. Another thing is that when we have her leash on for a walk, she would rather chew on the leash than walk. How fustrating can that be!! Elcameno |
if you could post pictures of her head or hair then that may help some of the others out on giving you advice |
also skoshi's hair looked like he was kind of bald up top but when you really look the bottom of his hairs were gray or white. looked white then but looks gray now. so just make sure lol |
Lacy has the same thing...The vet says it is new hair growth coming in and because it is like a silver color it tends to look like a bald spot, look carefully and you will probably see that their is hair there. Stacey and Lacy:animal36 |
She is fairly young . Sometimes , I have puppies like her and the pups growth coats . As for the leash , the little one only need to adjust . |
My little 5 month old guy also bites the leash and his harness as he's not used to it. I just got him 5 days ago and everyday it gets better :D My girl had thin thin head hair like what you're describing when I first got her at 10 weeks. Now she has a nice think head of hair. I think it's just something that they develop over the course of a few months. What helped me was adding some Grizzly Salmon Oil to her kibble, the vitamins and minerals in that helped her coat become beautiful. You can get it online or at petsmart or petco. |
Lucy loves going for walks but hates her leash! She used to bite on her harness/leash when she was younger and still does from time to time. It has gotten better than it was when she was a puppy but she's only a little over a year. Not sure why they do that.... |
yorkie at 12 wks biting on leash & thin head of hair Our yorkie did much better today with the harness & leash! I guess it just takes time for her to get use to it. As for the e-mails I received on the thin head of hair, the e-mails were reasuring. Thanks Elcameno |
