have you heard about iams recall?
 
I just got this info from a friend of mine and wanted to pass it on. I am sure there is a thread somewhere on here about it but i thought i would post again. I didn't research it much because my babies eat BLUE but i know there are some that eat Iams and Iams products. Here is the website were you can read about it.

Do you know if it's all Iams & eukanuba products? I went to the site but it wasn't very specific. I also tried to call the phone #'s but couldn't get through.:(

I just scooped out a few spoonfuls of Iams can food today and my heart almost stopped when I read this....luckily my can dosent match up with the codes or flavour...but I am still throwing it out!!! In fact I just did...

I read too that was Iams and Eukanuba wet food, but to be safe I will throwing all out. Phoebe eats Royal Canin, sensible choice dry food only and I hope that nothing like that happens in the future again.:thumbdown poor babies and their owners:(

One note, hopefully to ease your mind before looking: The recall is limited to "cuts and gravy" style pet food in cans and pouches.

Eukanuba and IAMs are doing it a precautinary measure. Here's the UPC codes you should be concerned with. On the bottom side of your cans, on the 2nd line, numbers beginning from 6339-7073. However, the 2nd series of 4 digits are the ones you are really concerned with, they are the plant code #s (4197) is the one you should be concerned with.

Yes it is the can and dry foods for Iams and Eukenuba. You might want to go to your vet and pick up some I/D which is a bland canned food until you know for sure that this products is safe to re-use. There have been at least 10 fatalities and more pets with renal failure! It is a very serious recall and I know there isn't much info but I have had to notify one of my breeders about it as well.

I just looked at that website and saw it was for the canned foods but thats not what they said on our local news so maybe our local news had it wrong. I was really worried because the lady that i purchased Simba from only feeds Eukaneuba and my brother does as well. I got were i don't purchase any foods with yeast or animal byproducts in it. If i have to quit feeding dog food i will just start making them there meals hehe.
I really feel horrible for the families who lost there beloved babies!!!

The Eukanuba website specifies its just the wet canned food and the foil pouch wet foods...The dry kibble isnt on the recall list.. Hope this is clearer for you!!

My understanding is it's NOT dry food, only cans and foil pouches. Here's what Eukanuba says on their site:

"Iams and Eukanuba ?dry? products are not manufactured at Menu Foods and not affected by this issue."
