okay, so i'm ready for the third addition to my fam-bam okay well if you guys didn't know, i'm saving up for my 3rd pup.. im still deciding whether a maltese, a yorkie or a yorktese, i don't care i just want a furbabe!.. but.. i have Oreo he is a 6 month old male and my first pup, then we have Ginger a 6 month old Female 2nd addition. my question is, does it matter what gender i get? Oreo is a pretty friendly guy, but kind of protective and jealous, but he got used to ginger, and same with Ginger. and if i get the 3rd addition, does it matter what age? I got Oreo at 8 weeks old, and I got Ginger when Oreo was about 4 months old and Ginger was also 4 months old. they are 6 months old now. any suggestions would be nice! and if anyone knows of any decent breeders please send them my way. please don't lecture me about the shelters, i've already been to 2 in my area, that do not have any small breed dogs, unfortunately, but i did put myself on their waiting list. thanks in advanced! I'm sorry - I don't have any advise, but I just wanted to say congrats & tell you that I'm SO jealous!!!! I want a 3rd so badly!! Good luck with your search! |
Congratulations!!! I wish I could have a little puppy again. I think you should get a puppy since its your last one. Its more work but worth enjoying the little puppy experience. I am sure your other dogs will be okay. |
thanks :) i too was thinking of getting a little puppy.. i loved watching my little Oreo grow.. i wish i could have seen miss gingee grow, i dont mind all the hard work it takes to potty train, its soooo fun! :) just thinking about gender, and breed now... :p gosh i want them all :D |
I think you should get a Yorkie, but hey, I'm biased!! :D |
I vote Yorkie all the way (but I am also bias :) ) As far as gender, maybe the best thing would be to find a good breeder and go and see wihich puppy you fall in love with. The breeder can also help you choose as she will know the personalities of the puppies and which one would work best for your situation. (This helped a lot when we got Griffin and couldn't be happier). |
still needing opinions with gender issues, haven't found a breeder yet :( |
We have 2 girls and one boy. We got our boy first and then the 2 girls. I think having one boy only is the perfect combo, especially since the girls like to boss Rocky around. Im not sure how it would be with 2 boys and 1 girl, I couldnt imagine it and Im not positive we would have the same "bonds" goin gone. Either way every dog has a different personality no matter what the breed so I would look more into which sex you want rather than which sex you want to add to the 2 you have no, either way you will have 2 siblings who love eachother no matter the gender (IMO) |
ROFLMAO Makes no difference which sex you get(if you are getting them fixed) the 2 same sex will gang up on the other one. All the growling and running and jumping, is soo much fun to watch. If you aren't getting them fixed I'd say 2 females because, can you imagine all the screaming and hollering those 2 boys would do when she comes in heat. "Double your pleasure, double your fun" LOL Sylvia |
I have 2 8 year old females, 1 yorkie (Buffy) 1 maltese (Melissa), they are only one month apart. Their personalty's are very different, but both want to be mama's only baby. That cause's a lot of problems with food, beds, rest area's, blankets, my lap, my hands, and who gets to me first. I myself I want to get two more yorkies another girl and I never have had a boy so I would like to get one. Melissa is still very active and makes me nuts sometimes, she's just like that child you tell "don't do it" and as soon as turn around they do it, and do it, and do it again! but now she learns to watch when you are not looking like taking a nap or shower. Yes, that smart, at first its funny but after trying different things to correct her and still nothing it looses its cuteness. You have to be one step ahead of her at all times. Now Buffy is very calm, I tell her to sit there and wait for me she does as long as Melissa does not try to follow me, then its a race to who gets there first and Melissa will puch Buffy down and step on her (if I let her, which I don't!) so you see what I mean. I can go on and on, just pick a problem topic. I don't know if the same happens with two female yorkies. :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
