Sunday I'll be getting Gilbert
 

Yep.. A lady named Pam on here helped me out. I found an ad on puppyfind.com. Was a yorkie in Kentucky. I couldnt view info due to not having account. Pam helped me out. I called the lady today and we talked for like an hour. She emailed me some more pics and told me all about Gilbert. He's 2.5 and a larger yorkie but still needs a loving home. So this won't replace my little girl Snickers who is still missing but i'm hoping he will help us all heal.

Few details on Gilbert
The only cost, then, to adopt him would be the gas in your car to drive to pick him up. I will have with him his AKC papers, his medical record, toys, clothes, a couple of doses of his heartworm, his new rabies tag that he got yesterday, etc. He was also just groomed.

I'm pretty excited.. Hope all works.. Getting him Sunday..

Gilbert is adorable!

Awwww, he is so cute!! He reminds me of Harley (look at my avatar picture) and Harley is also a large Yorkie. I am glad that he found you!!! Sounds like he is a love-bug and deserves a good home. I cannot imagine giving up my Harley just because he ended up being bigger than what he was suppose to. :confused:

I'm feeling something isnt cosher here. You said he was 2.5 pounds and a larger Yorkie, but hon, if he has already had his rabies shot then he must be at least 4 or 5 months old. Why is he on heartworm medication? Has he been bile acid tested? I do hope you know what your getting. Don't be in too big a hurry to get a Yorkie. Make sure you get a healthy puppy.

Yes thats what i mean sorry.. I think he's like 14lbs. He's on the heart worm to help prevent one of those monthly pill things.. I used to have my little girl on those..

Woohoo its finally saturday.. Tomorrow my little girl and I will be leaving our house around 10:30am to go get Gilbert. I'm so excited. Taking today to clean up the house some. Having a 3 year old home all the time really keeps me cleaning and picking up toys. I even made the bed in the spare room. He could have his own room even.. lol

I'll take pics with my camera phone and post them up when I get home sunday.. I can't wait..

Hey everyone. Wow what a drive.. lol I drove from Florence Kentucky to Portsmouth Ohio only a 2 1/2 hour drive but seemed longer. I finally have another yorkie. Things were a little rocky at first. He growled at me and the lady gave me a treat and I gave it to him then she offered to let me hold him. She got his crate and things out of her van and we put them in my car. Gilbert was searching my car for food. Think he got a few of my daughters m&m that she dropped from friday.. lol He layed in the floor in the back seat. I went to pet him after I drove off and he snapped at me. I got a little worried and scared and thought maybe I was pushing it. after an hour of driving I stopped to move around. I got a shake and got gilbert some water. He got in the front seat and seemed a lot nicer. I was able to pet him and no problems. This made me feel good. I got to Florence and decided to run to Petsmart before going home. I got him a ball and a new leash. In petsmart he was pretty good. Seems like he likes to walk you. Might have to work on that one. We got home and oh no. He ran down stairs and went under the sink in the laurdry room. I went to get him and he growled. I told my hubby he's probly scared and to give him time to come out. Of course my 3 year old daughter wanted to see him and play with him. She was excited. My hubby went to run and get something. I decided maybe taking a walk with Gilbert and my daughter would help. And it did.. He's now laying upstairs next to me on the couch. I was rubbing his belly.. He seemed to like that. Not sure how much he likes this healthy dog food he's on. He's like 17lbs and the vet told the lady it couldnt hurt if he lost some weight.. lol I only got one pic of him so far since he's been so scared. Maybe tomorrow will be better after he settles in more.. He's so cute.. He acts all playful when he needs to go out and when he's hungry he makes little cry noises.

Congrats on getting Gilbert-what is funny is I was in Portsmouth today also, LOL small world-I could have brought him to ya, I am only about an hour from Florence...:D Sounds like he is in a great home and will gets lots of love!

Thats too funny on being in Portsmouth too.. Did you see how high the river was? Wow!!!!

Things are going pretty good.. Hubby got home last night and took some time to get to check out Gilbert more. He ended up playing tug of war with him some.. lol Gilbert slept in the living room. Not sure how he feels about our bedroom. He seems kinda scared still. No messes in the house. She's so cute when he wants to go out. Gets all playful. He laying down right now. He kinda snapped at my little girl earlier but I know her she needs to take it easy till he gets used to us. She was trying to pet him while he was sleeping that or she tried to scoot him over while he was trying to nap. It'll take some time.. Its a rainy day here.. Blah.. I wanted to check out the dog park.

Congrats on getting Gilbert! The pictures are great! He is soooooo cute! Its probobly just going to take a little time to adjust but Im sure you will all be one big happy family real quick!
