Possible new pup Hi, I am thinking of getting a Chi that is 4 months old and weighs 1lb. How big do you suppose she will get? The lady I am getting her from bought her for her daughters (4yrs, 3yrs) but they are too rough for her. She said the mom and dad were smaller than average (not sure on weight). I know this is not a Yorkie, but the size is about the same as some. Any advise on her care as well. |
Guessing? 5-6 lbs. I've had three and they were little. |
I'm not sure about chi's but my Timmy was 1 3/4 lb. at 4 months old and he is 3 1/4 lb. full grown. |
I always thought that it was the same rule of thumb for Chiuahua's as it is for Yorkies. So ballpark guess would be 2 times the weight at 12 weeks. I would guess your Chi would be somewhere between 2 and 3 pounds. |
Thank you for your responses. Gosh that's tiny. My tinest pup is my Griffon at 7lbs so this will be different. I really just want to get her before the kids hurt her and she is at the time having to stay in a kennel to keep the kids away from her. Not the kind of life she needs to live. Should pick her up this Sat. :) |
