Question -- Really worried! Hi everyone. The doctor just called and Lily is waking up from her anesthesia. She was spayed today, and he said everything looks good. He DID say, though, that her kidney bloodwork seemed a little off. COuld be a result of her being a growing puppy, or a sign of something more serious. Do any of you know what this could mean, or have you dealt with this before? I am worried. Thank you, Angelena & Lily |
I would check her diet for excess fat and proteins, and table scraps. In about 30 days I would then get a new chem. panel done. Are you feeding Royal Canin by any chance? |
Welll..... Yes, she gets table food. She eats plain cooked chicken, with nothing on it, and she eats eukanuba puppy chiots. Thats it, really, for food. is royal canine bad? |
I have seen and heard of the high fat and protein causing blood tests to go off. The BUN/Creatine ratio is high or even bile acids have been elevated due to high fat in the blood stream. This is why I don't use RC or Eukanuba. OK now remember this is JMO some dogs do just fine on what ever they are eating. :) |
IMO , you should have her check later . I use Eukanuba for my little ones and it is ok . Table food is not very good . |
I have expressed to my family that our pups are small, and a little table food can stop them from eating their dog food. I have a bigger problem with treats, everyone loves to give them. A big dog can wolf down a huge meal at dinner and still eat all his dog food, if he has enough exercise it is fine. I am sure a tiny bite of anything now and then would do no harm (except maybe make them beg) |
