Can he outgrow this?? So I think my newest pup Rocco gets car sick :confused: When I picked him up yesterday he threw up on my lap like twice, then after he had a drink at Debbies house he threw up on me again in the car. I thought he was just having tummy issues from the trauma of travelling. Well this morning I am on my way to work, and I'd given the babies scrambled egg for breakfast, and I get out to put them in their strollers and I notice he's thrown up in the car seat :( He hasn't had a bowel movement yet but I don't know if the throwing up is from upset tummy or car sickness. He is holding down food just fine as long as we're not in the car :rolleyes: If it is car sickness can he outgrow it? |
My Jewels was she was a pup would get sick in the car even if it were only a 5 min drive. Then when she was about 1 it stopped. Then in October we drove for like a little over an hour an she got sick again. She has been on short drives since and hasnt gotten sick. So anyway yes I think they can outgrow it at least a little |

I definately think he can/will outgrow it. We drove 2 hours each way to get Hobbs and he got sick a couple of times in the car on the way home but he's never been sick in the car since. Hope itty bitty Rocco is feeling alright! |
Millie out grew the throw up part, but she has never really become comfortable in the car. She likes to get to the destination so she tolerates it!;) |
I don't know. Roxy just goes right to sleep (in her harnessed in carseat) But TJ, just recently has started to get sick the car. A few times when we arrived and the car stopped, he would start acting weird and scared and he would throw up (both from his mouth and also from his nose). I don't know what the problem is. He is just over 2 years old. |
Hopefully your little Rocco will out grow the car sickness. ZsaZsa did not do well in the car when she was little either but you can't keep her out of the car now. Good luck! |
Well he's perfectly calm in the car and LOVES the carseat :D He just curls up and sleeps immediately or looks out. I didn't even hear him throw up until I saw it when I picked him up and saw puke :( He doesn't seem bothered by the trip so I don't know if it's just upset tummy or really car sickness. |
All of mine got sick in the car the first day, but quickly grew out of it. Connor, however, does NOT like to go over bridges. It's like he can sense one coming up. He'll be laying there enjoying the ride and then he's up and staring nervously out the window when we come to a bridge. Once we've crossed over, he's fine again...:confused: |

Nobella most out grow it there is something you can give them for motion sickness in the mean time or keep them level in the car seat so they can see out the window usually helps as well!! congrats again on your new addition |

Another method... My skittles has motion/car sickness BADLY. I discovered that it was usually on the trip back HOME that he usually vomitted (after having gone to the vet or to get bathed). Originally, I thought he was associating the car with bad experiences. He's only 14 weeks old. I recently started putting him in the car (without it running), bringing his toys and a treat so that he would start to feel comfortable with the car. Then the next week I did the same thing, but with the car running. The next week, I began driving back and forth in the driveway. This week, we've taken trips around the block. He seems to be doing pretty well with it. No vomit so far. My vet suggested this method, but said if it didn't work, he'd prescribe something for motion sickness.:aimeeyork |
